To the person claiming to be a former university recruiter - that is a pretty long post - you seem very passionate about defending ITT - I wonder why? What you said about education at CC's being crappy is just not true. I graduated from a well regarded large state university. Before going on to grad school at another well regarded state university I had to pick up one math class that I didn't get with my BS at a local CC. It was a good class - fairly difficult and prepared me well for the grad level classes that built on it. I don't know anything about ITT, but I know that the university I attended for grad school and the cc had an agreement (for undergraduates) that certain classes taken at the CC WILL transfer for credit towards a BS / BA degree at the university. There was no question - no guessing or assuming - the students knew going in that the course would transfer. It was a summer class and many of the students at the CC were university students taking advantage of the cheaper tuition at the cc.

I currently go to ITT TECH and see nothing wrong with the education there. Teachers are willing to help, plenty of resources, and the 11 week class is great for those who work on keeping up with class.
I see lots of complaints but I also see lot's of students in my class that just don't care. Give them their C grade and they are happy. It's so easy to do well in class it makes me sick to my stomach so I know those who do poorly just don't care. If you don't care about your education it doesn't matter what school you go to or how much you pay.
You will be a worthless pile of poo. Life requires work. Nobody can hand you a great life or job you don't deserve. Recruiters get you in the door. That's their job and that is how the school stays open. If you don't understand that your a complete retard.
Take the time and do something with your education. One thing that ITT TECH offers that most don't. Is that you get to use their campus and resources as long as you want after you graduate. Come down sit and class and get a refresher course or maybe see whats new in the field. Still not worth the cost of tuition? Do 4 year colleges offer that?
Regardless of where you go. You have to learn for yourself. Teachers cannot just drill the knowledge into your brain.

I have seen plenty of people get hired from my campus. The graduating numbers dwindle but so do high school graduates, and any other college. I have friend attending Universities, Community Colleges, Online schools and its the same regardless, if you put s**t into it you get s**t out of it.
Not sure if you had a bad experience with ITT or you just think so highly of yourself you can be rudely opinionated on anything you want, but I don't see how you can expect to get anywhere with an attitude like that.

Wow....first of all the "recruiters" masquerade themselves as "representatives", trying to talk you into signing away your life for a $45,000 ASSOCIATE's degree that employers with laugh at, much less offer you a job. ITT is a joke, no matter what campus you go to. The credits DO NOT transfer, they are NOT regionally accredited (which means the "degree" means basically nill). I could go on but I am so fed up with your obvious PR drone that I could rip my eyes out....Have a nice life with your bonuses, till you get fired for not meeting the quota due to all the students realizing they've been scammed....F**k off.

Yesterday (Tuesday, January 12), while I was waiting for the bus after work out in King of Prussia, I was talking to this young girl who had just come from an appointment with the ITT Tech facilities there. (She wants to take up Criminal Justice there.) They told her that it would cost $500 a credit. They didn't even tell her how much money she would get if she got financial aid.
I had asked her if she had signed the papers yet, and she said no. In order for her to get financial aid there, she would have to get her parents' income information; citing U.S. Dept. of Education guidelines. This girl was only 23, she hasn't lived with her parents in years, she was working, but didn't think she could afford it.
I told her to call the person that she spoke with and tell her that she can't afford it. If she's only 23, working, and not living with her parents, why would they need her parents' income information? They should simply get her income information; and not her parents'. Her parents would probably hit the roof when they find out how much it costs to go there. And I'll bet they'll refuse to take out a loan to help pay for the tuition there. If she ever went there and she graduates, she'd be several thousand dollars in debt.
Besides the money, why would a tech school teach you criminal justice? This young lady wants to get into parole work. Most employers in criminal justice want at least a four-year-degree from a reputable and recognized college or university. I suggested that she check out Delaware County Community College instead. The tuition is not only less than ITT Tech, but she can transfer her credits towards a four-year-degree as well. ITT Tech does not offer college credit, and a student there could end up being $80,000 in debt, as well as a useless degree.
I just hope that this young lady, as well as anybody who goes to ITT Tech, will make a wise choice. Take your time and investigate before you invest.
Thank you.

Okay, before I continue I want everyone to know up front
that I am not an ITT Tech employee or student and I am not associated with the school at all. I am considering applying for a recruiter postion and was just checking out what folks had to say here. Some of the things
I see are disturbing. I have been a recruiter for a major corporation and for a traditional university. I do my research and wanted to see what people had
to say about ITT Tech before I committed. Because I havent worked there and
because Im applying for a job there I am only going to address the posts Ive
seen about the recruiters, and Im going to do it from a general standpoint. I
just wanted to respond to some off the ludicrous statements I have seen
regarding the job of recruiters. First the statements, then the truth
1. Recruiters are just salespeople Uhhhhhh, duh! If you
didnt know this then you are either extremely nave or you are 12 years old.
As stated above, I recruited for a major corporation for several years and also
for a 4 year university. OF COURSE they are salespeople! When a recruiter for a major
university calls on a H.S. student to persuade them to attend XYZ University,
why do you think he/she does it? Because you are that one HS Senior in the
entire United States that is going to make or break their reputation? Will
getting you to attend their school suddenly catapulte them into a Top 5 ranking
nationwide? Cmon, get real! They are doing it because
When the head football coach at USC shows up to recruit a
star running back is he not a salesperson? Do you think he is going to travel
across country to talk to the kid and then say, Well son, maybe
Mexico
2. ITT is just a diploma mill and is only concerned with
getting money out of you Those that say this have never attended a major
university, if theyve attended college at all. Let me tell you about a diploma
mill:
You sit in a class
with 200 other students texting your buddy about what you and your girlfriend
did last night while a professor lectures. Then after class you roll over to
the professors office and buy the notes from his lecture that you didn't pay attention to from him for $15.00.
Or you can go to his so-called website and get the useless outline that he
posted for the students who are too cheap to help him make his car payment. Now
comes test time. You sit in that same class with those same 200 students
cheating off your buddy next to you who is cheating off the guy next to him.
The professor isnt even in the classroom because he doesnt give a darn if you
pass or fail the test. Hes got a contract in his back pocket and as long a
small percentage of the class passes, he keeps his job. Lets say you fail that
test and want to ask the prof for special help. Good luck, pal. Between banging
female students who want better grades and writing his thesis for his PhD hes
got ZERO time for you. Now, as a worst case scenario you fail out of school.
How many university employees will be lined up at your door encouraging you to
return? Yea, you guessed it!
3. Youre better off at a Community College than ITT Tech
I cant fairly compare the two because I havent attended ITT Tech, but if you
think you are going to get a quality education at a Junior or Community
college, then again, either youre very nave or you are 12 years old. I went
to a JC my first two years before transferring. The running joke was that this
JC (like all of them) was just 13th grade. A way to still live at
home and freeload off your parents for a couple more years. I heard someone
here say that the ITT courses were on the High School level. Bro, the JC English 101
course I had to take my first semester couldve been Aced by a Jr. High
student. The only reason I was the only person who got an A in that class was
because I was the only one paying attention to the prof. Everyone else was
sleeping, drawing, talking, etc. And did the teacher get mad? Nope, he just
kept droning on because he knew it didnt matter how many of these kids passed.
He had a job and he was gonna get paid. The way I understand it the ITT
instructors are retained or not based on performance.
So maybe there are folks who think ITT tech is a rip off or
not a good school or whatever else. Well heres a reading assignment for you. Do
a search on this site for a college, any college, and show me one that doesnt
have comments about getting ripped off and/or it being too expensive with the exception of the Ivy league type schools. Oh, and
one more thingI have been a recruiter in one form or another for almost 20
years, and I have NEVER told someone a lie. Them buying my product through
deception isnt worth sacrificing my integrity.
Okay, flame on!

I don't know where you went in the US, but I am currently attending ITT Tech in Omaha, NE and the CNS Chair Larry Johnson is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met in this field. He not only can teach my two classes well but he demands the same from his fellow instructors that work under him. Like i said this may not be the case in your school you went to but I also don't feel it is fair to treat every school the same. I went to Community College for a year. And it was ridiculous. They didnt care about me or my education. From the recruiters to the instructors i honestly feel the want to see me succeed and do well after at my school.
I'm not gonna go into deep detail but I just wanted to make the point that i dont feel you should say ITT Tech is a fraud/scam. Maybe some are but they aren't all. Some of these school honestly care. And if you want to protect yourself you should do the research before hand on the specific school before you jump into such a large amount of debt. These people should do their jobs better and care more but you should check on your investments too.

ITT is a terrible place to get an education. They target low-income minorities who want to better thier lives...when they get out with a degree they are making $2 more an hour but they are $40,000 in debt. What a crock. . .DON'T BUY INTO THIS SCHOOL!!! OR EVERSE!!! Or any school that is not regionally accredited!

I was in a very similar situation. I was in CEET program. The first couple quarters actually went ok for me but I was already starting to noticed some of my teachers didn't seem to know what they were doing. Like they'd never taught that class before. I got hired into their workstudy program as well so I had an even deeper look at them at my campus here in Indianapolis. My "recruiter" (who quit within a month after I started attending) lied to me on what the CEET program was truly about. In most of my core classes equipment wouldn't work right, or we wouldn't have all the parts listed for a lab in our kits. In many of the classes the teacher wouldn't even know how to do the lab themselves. I also had to deal with their experiment with hybrid online courses. They actually had the "wonderful insight" to make the physics class a damned online course. The whole system was screwed up and the entire class including the teacher was on week 3 work by week 10 of the course. It was a nightmare and I left that class with very little physics learned. They also promised from the start that classes would be available DAY or Night as I needed them to be available. But within a year they were already forcing us day shift students to take Night Classes. About mid way through the course... I started having doubts and I wasn't liking my CEET program. So I decided to jump ship to CNS.. This seemed like a good idea at first but it quickly became apparent that they weren't going to be able to give me the full time day schedule I signed up for, they fit me for 1 to 2 classes a quarter every quarter stretching out my time there by years.... it would seem not to mention it was going to d**n near double my loans owed at the end. So I regretfully switched back to CEET after 2 quarters of CNS to just finish off CEET and get on with my life. I graduated ITT Tech CEET with a 3.4 GPA and was even inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. But I can tell you right now I don't really feel that I took anything worthwhile from my time there, certainly nothing worth the 40,000 I now owe in student loans. In fact I'd say most of my classes there were a joke and you didn't need to really know the material to pass the class... as many of the teachers didn't even seem to need to know the material to teach it. Don't get me completely wrong though there were a COUPLE very good teachers there but sadly I didn't have them often enough and with the other bad classes and instructors there, their small part they played wasn't enough to get a good education there. I wouldn't touch ITT Tech again even if someone offered to pay me to go back for a bachelors or something. I would never recommend anyone to go there and instead go somewhere else. It's a waste of money.
