ITT Technical Institute Ripoff won't process my withdrawal loan still being billed yet no longer attending King Of Prussia Pennsylvania
I withdrew from the school on December 9th. I requested proof of this the same day and was told three times that I'd receive something within a week. A week passed and nothing came. Nine days later, I sent this email to the dean of academic affairs.
Dear Danielle,
This is Charyn Coleman and I am writing to you concerning my withdrawal from the school on Thursday December 9, 2004. I was told by you and financial aid that I would receive proof/documentation of this within a week. However, it is now Saturday, nine days later and I have yet to recieve anything from the school.
I would like something to be sent out for my records and for loan repayment purposes. I NEED the documentation.
I am requesting that something be sent before December 24th. If nothing is sent by this time, I will be sending a certified letter with a return receipt as proof that I have made an attempt to obtain copies of my withdrawal information.
A wait any longer than this and I will have no choice but to seek legal advice on how to handle this matter.

Monday morning, the 20th, I received this response.
Charyn,
My apologies to you for the delay. I will copy Financial Aid on this email and see what documentation we can get to you as soon as possible. Our server has been down for a few days, so we will do what we can for you in the meantime.

On 12/21, something came via dhl. Only, it was not proof of my withdrawal or anything with the withdrawal date on it, nor was it transcripts. It was a glossy folder with loan information printed on and inside it. It contained a typed sheet on ITT letterhead, dated for the 20th, eleven days later than when I withdrew, informing me of what the folder and the blank, carbon copy loan document inside were for. They were the "student loan exit interview". I want proof that I withdrew and no longer attend the school, and I want documentation dated for that day, December 9, 2004.
The longer I am considered enrolled in the school, the more money I owe. Knowing this, I've become adamant about having dates and documentation saying that I am no longer enrolled in ITT Tech. However (obviously), I have not been able to obtain such.
I called Sallie Mae on 12/27, and it in fact turns out that ITT hasnt submitted anything about my withdrawal. The only thing submitted was something the day after the packet came, regarding a change in status way back in September, but nothing about a withdrawal from the school. According to their records, I am still enrolled and will be until June 3, 2006. I have not attended a class since the last week of november, and officially witdrew on December 9th.
They're continuing to make money off me and I'm not even there!
I can't believe I let hope get in the way of sense when dealing with this BUSINESS in the first place....
