J C Financials This is a 'Consumer's Reward Program' that promises to pay you $39K - its a FAKE! Buffalo New York
I received a check in the mail today for $3950 along wtih a letter stating that I had won some type of online lottery program. The check looks legitimate but the letter was very hokey. There were misspelled words and very vague instructions. There was no website or other information to identify the company. I actually called the number on the letter and it sounded like some woman who had an accent from India answered the phone. I could hear children in the brackground and she was clearly reading from a script. When I questioned her about the legitimacy of the company, she became very rude and asked me if I wanted her to close my file? How could she know what file was mine when I did not provide any of my personal information to her? I am not sure what is going on here but it is clearly some type of fraud scheme. They want you to deposit the check for $3950 into your bank account and then call them back the following business day to make arrangements to pay them the taxes you owe on the prize money. Then, they will release the $39K prize money to you. What do you want to bet that the $3950 check you deposit gets returned to your account unpaid? What do you want to bet that they want you to pay the taxes you owe with a credit card or some other type of instant payment transfer? I really hope that people do not fall for this and I hope that by reporting it here that it will prevent people from being taken advantage of. Clearly there are other people accross the US that are receiving the same letter and the same check and offer!! The envelope has a Canadien address, the letter has a Buffalo, NY address and the check is from a bank in Texas.
