Filled out and completed an ‘engine order form’ to order an Eggenfellner aircraft engine, Quinti propeller, Blade runner Propeller Controller, Engine cowling, heater unit, and Otiker Clamp Kit for installation. The Parts listed on the order form were:

  • 1 – Blade Runner Propeller Controller
  • 1 – Eggenfellner Engine Cowling

Paid a $250 deposit to start the process.

August 14, 2007

Mailed a cashiers check for the amount of $17,718.00 to Eggenfellner Aircraft. Purpose: Eggenfellner Aircraft required a 50% deposit on engine orders to secure the purchase.

September 20, 2007

Mailed a second cashiers check for the amount of $18,547.00 to Eggenfellner Aircraft. This was under the assumption that the engine package would be delivered in Q1 of 2008.

October 27, 2007

Contacted Jan Eggenfellner about upgrading from standard alternator on engine to high output alternator. Because the fuel valve ($455) was unavailable the alternator would be covered under that refunded item.

December 2008

Contacted Jan Eggenfellner via email about a Shipment Date. He said it would be after the first of the Year. The partial shipment of the engine package did not arrive until April 2009.

March 10, 2009 – approximately 10:00 AM

Jan Eggenfellner contacted me via telephone stating that he did not have a Eggenfellner Engine Cowling and asked if he could substitute it with a Sam James Cowling. I agreed and asked for a shipment date. He said it should arrive the first part of April. I also asked about the Quinti Propeller. Jan responded that he is having supply problems getting the propeller hub’s and he would update me as soon as possible.

April 1, 2009

Received an email from Jan Eggenfellner with the Bill of Lading information on the shipment of the engine package.

April 8, 2009

A partially fulfilled shipment was received from Eggenfellner Aircraft that contained the following:

  • 1 – Eggenfellner E6 Subaru Aircraft Engine
  • 1 – High Output Alternator
  • 1 – Sam James Engine Cowling
  • 1 – Cabin Heater Unit
  • 1 – Otiker Clamp Kit

December 18, 2009

Emailed Jan Eggenfellner regarding a refund for the undelivered parts. I even offered to take payments from him to lessen the financial burden to him.

February 26, 2010

Emailed Jan Eggenfellner a second time regarding a refund for the undelivered parts. Jan responded, acknowledging that he owed me for a propeller refund and that the economy was hurting his business.

May 1, 2010

Received email from Jan Eggenfellner regarding his financial situation – Jan admits to starting a new line of aircraft engines and hope the revenues from that can be used to pay back those people he still owes money to.

May 21, 2012

Sent a USPS addressed letter to Jan Eggenfellner as a formal demand for my refund payment. No response was received.

August 10, 2012

Sent a second USPS addressed demand letter regarding the money still owed. No response was received.

October 2012

Contacted a local Florida attorney about the possibility of a Civil Suit against Jan. She did some research and it was determined that he already had one judgment against him with another judgment pending. In her opinion, being awarded anything was highly unlikely based on his current financial situation.
