We contacted this firm in April, the next day we were informed that the "review board" had decided that our case had merit and we were accepted as clients. I informed Steve Maust and all of the many other associates that our case was handed off to that we were presently in the middle of a temporary 12 month rate reduction, they knew this DAY ONE, but continued to string us along, telling us everything was going as planned. In mid August we were informed that they could do nothing til our current mitigation expired at the end of October. Seems to me they would have been informed of this in mid May. The first of October our 2nd mortgage company offered us a buy out of .10 on the dollar, our negotiator informed us that this would not be a wise thing to do because it would counter what they were doing with the first. Needless to say that offer expired on the 31st. On November 4, 2010 my current negotiator informed me that the law firm would not be able to do anything but get us another 6 months of temporary rate reduction. My wife ands I spent 4-5 hours on the phone the following Saturday with the mortgage companies. But what topped it all off was when Ingrid Franco called to inform me that our refund would be refused because we turned down the "deal" they made with our mortgage company on November 13. What began as a hope to keep our home following the May "Flood of the Century" has turned into chaos as we sell all we can trying to catch up.
