In July of 2016 I emailed Jason about entering my special needs son in a Special Olympics weightlifting event. I have no background in this at all. He said he would write up a special diet and training regimen for $1000. It seemed a bit high but I have a lot of friends that pay more for their kids coaching, strength & conditioning coaches, etc.
I sent him a check for $500 upfront and things started out well. At least until the third week, my son severely tore muscles in his low back. His "Coach Jason" had said he didn't need to warm up! When I asked him about it, Jason said my son needed to "toughen up". He made an off-hand comment about his own upbringing with a Vietnam era Green Beret for a father. He also alleded to the fact that he was a clandestine soldier with the CIA that had trained at the Farm in Langley, whatever that means. I again told him that my son has special needs and just wanted to compete in the Special Olympics.
By week 6 he wanted the rest of the money, over a month before the actual meet!! His daily check-up emails and calls had stopped. His phone number was disconnected, he no longer responded to our emails. My son was heartbroken! If it wasn't for the local HS football coach he would not have been ready at all.
As a postscript, the FB coach said the program that we paid $500 for was not at all appropriate for my son. It's not that we will ever get any money back from this man. I just hope no one else falls for his lies and scams.
