Mr Trifione did work on my Carlisle EDPM (rubber) roof. I noticed he used what looked like asphalt (tar). I questioned him and he told me it was an approved product. He could never produce documentation but told me he bought it at Lowes and it's what they said to use. I have had it inspected by a trusted roofer and they confirm that all his work must be ripped off and replaced.
I have MSDS sheets and specification from the manufacturer of the product he used and it states "do not use on rubber roofs". I also have instructions off the Carlisle website showing how to repair their product. Their name is clearly stenciled on the roof membraine.
When I hire a contractor I expect him to know what he's doing, not ask the guy at Lowes. Even if he didn't, he could spend a couple minutes on-line and know what to use and what not to use.
Mr Trifone is not registered with the BBB and I have not be able to find any evidence that he has the required construction supervisers licence.
