Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have a 26' Wellcraft boat and the Impeller went out after a day on the lake. I had the boat sent to Dockside Marine Service in Gallatin, TN 37066. The owner recomended a Jasper engine replacement. I received the boat in mid July and ran the boat 3-4 times the remainder of the boating season. Ran the boat 2 additional times in 06 when the engine locked up. I had an 18 month warranty and called the Dockside Marine Service who had went out of business. I was told by local boat owners to take the boat to Anchor High Marina as they serviced Jasper engines.

After a few weeks, the shop called and said that Jasper wanted to have the engine shipped to their plant for examination. The caller explained that he had never had this happen but said they wanted to find out what went wrong with the engine.

A few weeks later, Anchor High called and explained that Jasper was not going to warrent the engine as tabs that they place on the engine had shown that the engine had ran hot and the warranty does not cover engines that run hot. Also, the original installer must have done something wrong and I should go after him.

Oh yea, and they made me pay $725.00 to Anchor High for sending them the engine to examine. Oh yea, and said they would rebuild my motor for $1,300.00. Oh yea, and said that does not include shipping the engine to me or for installation(another $3,500.00) Oh yea, emailed back and said that they destroyed the engine but they would get me another. I cracked up. First, they were going to rebuild my engine(what they do for a living) then, when lawsuite was mentioned, the infamous engine was destroyed, perfect.

Of course, I explained that the boat ran great, better than ever the times we had taken it out and if it was installed wrong, it would have never ran right and if it did get hot, it was not from anything we did. Out of the 4-5 times we went out, we probably had less than an hour on the engine. Plain and simple, it was just a faulty engine and I needed them to stop the finger pointing and just stand by the warranty.

That got me about as far as I could throw a horse and I went to the BBB. Another total wate of time. I mean, think about it. The BBB gets monies from businesses, not from the public. When it comes down to it, are they going to tell a company that pays dues to them to do the right thing? No.

So now, I am having to sue them. a 2 year ordeal. A lot of wasted time. No boat for almost 2 seasons. But, I will win in the long run but it is not worth the efforts. Dont buy from this company.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
