Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Prior to signing my rental agreement, my landlord informed me that the window in the master bedroom was scheduled to be replaced. It was my responsibility to schedule a specific date for a technician to replace the cracked glass. I was out of town on business for a week therefore I had someone else meet the technician.

I did not request the window replacement. I was simply responsible for letting the technician inside the residence since I was the tenant. I returned to the residence later that evening. The glass had been replaced and the blinds were closed shut as always to assist in cooling the house.

My girlfriend and I were in the kitchen when we heard a crashing sound. We walked out in the front yard and observed the master bedroom window at that time. The window was shattered in the middle and the rest was cracking. Pieces were falling to the ground as the glass was literally shattering before our eyes. There was no evidence of foul play.

I called JC Glass at this time and informed them that this piece of glass must have been faulty. Both men that I spoke with tended to agree. The unidentified male on the other end of the phone claiming to be the supervisor informed me that he would be contacting the technician who installed the glass. He stated that "Mike" would be out in an hour to get the window "secure". Nobody ever stated that there would be additional fees or charges.

The technician arrived approximately one hour later. My girlfriend identified him as the same individual that she let in on that morning. He also identified himself as the same technician who installed the window that had shattered. He seemed to admit that the glass must have been compromised at some point. He used a shop vacuum to pick up all the broken glass. He did not tell me anything about a rock hitting the glass from the time he was inside the residence to the time he departed. He replaced the window with a temporary piece and left the residence.

Approximately ten days later I got a phone call from our property management representative. She informed me that the technician from JC Glass had claimed that a "dime sized rock" was thrown through the glass in which he observed it on the carpet upon his arrival. I am an investigator. I investigate fraud. I find it hard to believe that a dime sized rock could possibly be thrown through a glass window, shattering the glass, some how making it through the blinds that were closed shut, and ending up on the opposite side of the window and inside the house resting perfectly on the carpet in pristine condition. I have officially dubbed the JC Glass technician's testimony: "The Magic Pebble Theory".

I was on a three way conference call with a female representative from JC Glass and "Mike" the technician who if would have done a competent job in the first place may have saved himself from getting a subpoena requesting that he explains his side of the story just once more. They stated that I was responsible for the cost of the second install which they called an "emergency service". The charges added up to approximately 800.00 dollars. I stated that the technician was dishonest and that I would be disputing the charge. The female representative stated that she was going to turn me over to collections. Which is just absouloutly absurd.

Now why would I be responsible for any charges from JC Glass? I never requested for them to do any work on my behalf, I never signed a contract; I was never informed that there would be additional charges, and now suddenly I find myself being threatened that they will turn me into a collection agency. Nobody should have to stand for this incompetence and blatant dishonesty.

Furthermore if JC Glass would like to proceed with their belligerent threats I will contact my attorney in this matter.
