I was contact by Jeff Morgan from Jeff Morgan Law Firm, claimed that I owed money to cashnet which I don't recall.  I explained to the man that I don't owe anyone any money especially to a payday loan.  For reason he had my social security number, he know my previous employer, knows where I bank.

Jeff an Indian accent (from India).  He told me that I need to paid the amount of $545.36 or I have have to go to court and once it enter the court I have to paid over $5000.00.

He gave me his telephone as 512-651-3633 and his e-mail address is [email protected]

Jeff wants me to write a letter to him and stating that I will paid before he can settle this law suit.  But along with the letter that he need from me, he wants me to write the letter sign it and scan then e-mail to him.  But the most shocking of it was that he wants me to forward a copy of my driver license to him in order for this settle.

I have found that anytime a person gets a call like this, the first thing they shoud do is put the ph. number into a search engine and look to see what you can find. In this case I went to http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-512-651-3633.  Read the comments that people have posted.  It will usually give you some peace of mind knowing that you aren't the only one that has been contacted in this manner.  There are a LOT of scammers out there that will use your info that they have bought off the internet to try to threaten you with legal proceedings to scam you out of money. Usually the best thing to do is ignore them. You can also tell them that you have filed a report with the local police. Filed a report with the FTC, and others and usually the scammers will go away.
If you have EVER put your information on the internet looking for a Personal Loan, a Pay Day Loan, refinancing a home, etc. you are leaving yourself open to receiving calls from scammers like this.
