The only thing close to "Majestic Visa" on a google search is this site with its complaints. The web site "www.majesticcard.com" given to me by the operator at 1-888-210-8987 was a dead site. If the "Majestic Visa" is legitimate and is indeed a card issued by Columbus Bank & Trust Company why can't you get a hit on the Columbus Bank & Trust Company's site for Majestic Visa.

I am somewhat recovered financially from becoming disabled and defaulting on a California Credit Card in 1994. This is the first offer of settlement of the account that would have let me pay an amount which I have no dispute over. (Alexander Hamilton Life - a credit insurance - was supposed to pay the balance due on September 20, 1990.) This was the ultimate date of my disability although I didn't get an SDI check until 1995.

In any case, the old debts from the time of my disability incurance and the 4 years fighting with Social Security have apparently cleared from my credit report. I recently recieved two credit cards from Chase (A Chase Visa and a Disney Chase Visa) with a total credit line of $9,000.00 (more than I can reasonably use). The interest rate is less than 10% and they accepted transfers from my higher interest Citicard at 0%.

The point is that Jefferson Capital Systems can do nothing to mess up my present credit. I would have happily paid Jefferson Capital Systems the amount they are trying to collect if they had made a legitimate verifiable offer. If I could have verified with Columbus Bank & Trust that there was actually an approval for an account set up and the amount for which I would be obligated, I would have accepted the offer.

Since the offer did not have the account information I suspect that it was lifted from a credit report by the previous holder of the legitimate purchaser of the account. Since none of the other information is true I doubt the legitmacy of the claim of ownership of the account because of the lack of the account number.

The finale point is that 7 to 10 years is not forever. I was in a state of undeclared bankruptcy for most of that time and decided not to pay an attorney to file bankruptcy because my only income was unattachable disability benefits from Social Security and the VA.

The reason you could not get majestic visa to come up on a search is because it is not majesticcard.com it is majesticcard.NET. These three little letters can make a world of a difference. Try it!

There is no indication that the collector in San Diego turned my account over to Jefferson Capital nor did Jefferson Capital provide to me any proof they legitimately obtained the account. Every thing points to this being an "identity theft" of sorts. The company I owed money too all ready recieved, from the original collection company all they are going to recieve. I would be happy to pay all the money I owed to the company I origionally owed it to or pay double the amount Jefferson Capital paid for my account, but no more. But I am not about to get sucked in to redating the account or getting a high interest credit card I don't need. If the company had proved ligitimate on my searches I would have paid them and dumped their high interest card later. I could not verify they were ligitimate owners of the account. Your credit will not be built any faster than it would have by ignoring this offer. All you have to do to build credit is maintain timely payments to open accounts and stay within the limits. I recieved -- this year a Disney Chase Visa Card and a Chase Visa Card with a total credit limit of $8,000.00 in addition to the $8,000.00 limit my Citi Master Card has now after being maintained for 15 years from an original line of $600.00. You may need this starting point but as quickly as you can move to a reputable card company. And make sure you don't get in over your head. If something happens that you can't keep up all of your accounts pick the ones you can keep up and keep them clean.

I have just read many negative comments regarding majestic visa. I want to state that I have received many annyoing calls also however, I can not dispute that I owed this money. Calls can be disturbing but put ypurself in their shoes they want their money!!! I decided to take advantage of the offer I made timely payments. I received my new credit card and I am ever so grateful for the opportunity to clear up an old debt and start building my credit again.
