Jefferson-Cash-Advance (aka) 200Cash.Com is the same company.

The SCAM: You go through the application process thinking that you are going to receive funds in your checking account. What really happens is: They take $19.00 for an application fee out of your checking account. In my case: I applied on the Jefferson-Cash-Advance web site. You are then directed to 200Cash.Com. It took me a few minutes and I discoverd that they were the same company. I sent emails to cancel my application to both Jefferson and 200Cash within minutes of my applying on line. I did not receive any emails back from either to confirm that I cancelled. The next day the $19.00 was taken out of my checking account. I started sending both

Jefferson and 200Cash emails again and I stated that I would do some investigation work on who to contact in Delaware:

For example: Office of the Secretary of State

Office of State Bank Commissioners

(handles payday loan complaints)

The next day I received an email from them with a very short

reply: They stated that they did cancel my application but the $19.00 application fee was non-refundable and they implied that the $19.00 charge was for automatic tell track and the worknumber.com verification.

I emailed them back and told them that I was going to try to find out if there have been other complaints about them and if I find out that there are complaints I would try to put my 2 cents in so maybe this ripoff/scam will get out to the publc and save someone before they get involved with these companies.

It appears to me that Jefferson (aka) Cash knows exactly what they can get by with legally and they go off laughing all of the way to the bank. I told them in my last email that if I did file any kind of complaint after finding out their history of complaints I would get my $19.00 back in satisfaction knowing that I did the right thing trying to help someone from getting

in to the same situation. I also told them that they are the ones that put a stigma on payday loan companies. There are a lot of payday loan companies out there that go by the rules and aren't looking for a way to scam people. Thanks to the Rip-Off report I found out that 200Cash had a lot of complaints. I didn't see Jefferson on the complaint list but for your information: Jefferson and 200Cash or the same!!!!!

I'm not a lawyer by any means but I would call this a borderline scam because as I mentioned: ( They know what they can get by with legally) and that is exactly what they are doing. The Secretary of State of Delaware should look into this ripoff/scam.

No matter how you slice it- advance fee lending is illegal. No one else charges a fee for supposedly verifying information. See- I am smart, I ready everything- and I STOPPED when I saw that I would be charged $80 for a $200 loan! It's a rip off. NO THANKS! A late fee on my house is cheaper

The courts understand that "application fee" means a fee to apply...

1. There is a notice for the application fee on the last page of the application process. It is in large text and in plain view. See here: https://www.200cash.com/secure/new_check.asp 2. The courts understand that ?application fee? means a fee to apply and, like other industries, is non-refundable and is used by the company to offset application and credit / employment verification. Payment of this fee has no bearing on whether or not the applicant is ultimately approved and funded. (Many of us remember paying an app fee for an apartment rental app for example. This fee is never refunded if they don't approve you) 3. The website allows the applicant to simply leave at any point and avoid the app fee charge. 4. The ?approval? notice is conditional. The text says ?approved pending verification of your information?. This allows them a chance to verify the information submitted before making the loan. 5. The approval (pending) notice comes AFTER pushing the submit button UNDER the app fee notice text, not before. 6. 200CASH.COM, INC. is licensed in the State of Delaware as a Small Loan Agency. License number: 2003102706. This can be confirmed by contacting the State of Delaware, Division of Revenue. (We are not a ?Bank? or ?Financial Institution?, we are a ?Small Loan Agency?.)
