They will post a "Secret Shoppers Wanted" ad on Craigslist, Backpage,
etc. If you reply with your information, they will out of the blue send
you a check via USPS. The check is in fact a fake check and will bounce
given time. They will tell you to Secret Shop a Walmart and a Western
Union. You will be asked to take $200 as your payment, spend $40 at
Walmart, and then go ahead and send the rest via Western Union to the
next person and deducting the fees for sending from the money. Once you
do that, it's over.
They will call you repeatedly from a restricted or Unidentified number.
I never bothered to answer so I couldn't tell you who was on the other
line.
EDIT: Turns out the reason they block the numbers is because the numbers they text you from are routed through a site/app called Pinger.com which creates a virtual phone number to text from that doesn't exist via any carrier.
I got them to text me a picture and the name came up as Steve Bucks. Don't know if it's tied in at all.
