After doing a $30 diagnostic where Jensen at 108th & Fort, said that my car was a half a pound low on freon, had no power to the compressor and would need a further diagnosic and the car was brought back. At that time we were told that it needed a new AC CONTROL HEAD, which controls the heat and AC from the dash. At that time Jensen wanted to charge $414 for an AC Control Head that lists for $331.57 at Nissan of Omaha. I brought this to their attention and was told "we have to mark it up. We're in business to make a profit." But they reluctantly agreed to do the work and sell us the part at list price.
By this time, I'd lost confidence so we took it into taking it to the nearby Nissan dealership. The service advisor there wondered why we were interested in installing the new AC Temp Control Unit in, because he said: "those things rarely go out." But we told him that we'd already done expensive diagnositics at Jensen, so they installed the new one and added a pound and a half of freon. And it didn't work!
So we brought it back to Nissan again and after a brief diagnostic (which didn't cost us any more) we were told that the actual problem that would have fixed the AC from the start was a low pressure switch that cost us $45.38. Now it works and we're guessing that Jensen never did the diagnostic they claimed they did, but just wanted to sell us an overpriced replacement part we didn't need.
If we'd had the work done there, we would have continued to pay and pay and pay for things we didn't need.
