I recently found an ad on craiglist that listed two tea cup chihuahuas , i contacted the email on the ad , it was a lady names "marika evans" from north carolina who supposibly suffered an accident and needed to leave to the uk for proper treatment , me and my family felt really bad for her , not knowing at the time that she was a scammer. we asked for one puppy , she told me that the puppy was "free" and it came with toys , all of its shots , and micro chipped and that all i had to do is pay for the shipping of the puppy from north carolina , but first she asked some questions to "assure the puppy goes to a good home" and requested to "keep contact to see how the puppys were doing " .. she had us convinced that she was a legit ill person with no intensions to scam , until i recieved and email and a phone call from this company named "jet-pet animal shipping" located in CAMEROON , Africa . This was really strange , the man had a really heavy accent , and the connection was terrible , he requested $130 dollars from me immediatly before the puppy was shipped , but he wanted the money via western union , at that point i started doing some research on the internet about this , and found some cases that were very similar to mine , execpt i didnt make the mistake of actually sending the money , the guy kept calling me , but i blocked his number and spammed him from my email . this is a perfect example of how twisted and sick some people are out there , making up a sob story and making someone feel really bad for them just so they can take our money ..

Unfortunately there are pet scammers out there that target vulnerable people. It can be pretty exciting to think you are getting a new puppy and for such a cheap price. However, these people are also giving reputable businesses a bad name.
Jetpets has been a trusted and reliable company operating out of Australia for over 20 years. They only offer pet transport and do not sell puppies. To find reputable pet transport companies, please go to http://www.ipata.org/search-on-line-for-a-pet-shipper (you will find Jetpets Australia on the list)
If you are buying a puppy on-line, do some research. It is easy for someone to post a scam and when it is for something so exciting, people just get caught up in the moment. Never buy a puppy if you cannot speak to the owners, have any references or have to pay into a Western Union account. Western Union accounts cannot be tracked which is why there are so many scams that operate using the bank.
I am glad that you did no pay any money and realised it was a scam. But please note that this is not just a scam for people buying the puppy but also someone that has stolen the identity to a real and fantastic company that I would recommend to anyone transporting their pets.
