I brought my sons 2000 Honda Accord in for an oil change and when we got it home I noticed something was leaking and when I looked closer it was trani fluid so I took it to the place where I have bought the car from (between me and my employees we have purchased 9 hondas from them) said that someone drained the fluid and over filled it and it blew out the seal they also used the wrong fluid. (honda fluid is red and when we bought this car he told me to only use the honda fluid since the trani was still under warranty) Jiffly lube was the only place that this car had been since I bought the car. I contacted them and the manager told me that they would get me out a check to cover the damage. A few weeks went by no check so I went in to see where it was and he told me that they were not going to pay. This guy had changed his story on what happened three times. This is a bad deal and a lessons learned about these quick change places and who they hire to work there.

A $600 dollar lesson learned!!

The story in question states that somebody had drained, then refilled the transmission, and had overfilled it during the course of an oil change service. The accusation then lead to the seal bursting and causing a leak in the transmission. That sounds very good, if you had indeed paid for a drain and fill transmissioin service at the time of the oil change. I am not to clear on the theory that a business would give away a free transmission drain and fill service with the purchase of an oil change. If thats the case.......it would appear on the work order as well as the receipt. Is this the case? Or is somebody assuming that this is the case. Or maybe somebody assumes that because the business was the "last people to touch it' they are automatically the ones responsible for performing a "free transmission service" which obviously did not appear in the invoice for some unknown reason. Was the free transmission service done as a side job and paid for under the table? If so, shame on you and the employee who set it up.....if it's not documented on the invoice, it never happened....this all sound real good in THEORY...mind you. or was it added to as part of the service.......but never documented, which would never take the fluid in question out of the business' inventory POS system when cashed out, which would of course leak to a inventory shortage later. The burden of proof is on the accuser.....do you have any proof in this matter? Other than your THEORY that somebody "must have" done the service for free, and lead to leaky seal. All transmission fluid is red in color......it is a dye added when the fluid is produced. Except AE fluid....used in newer model volkswagon automatic transmissions, which is yellow in color. Do you have all the facts right in your accusations? Do you have any proof in the matter? Or is your poor Hondas' transmissions' fate in the arms of the theory stated in the events listed above in this statement? Honda transmissions are to be checked in park......with the engine off......within one minute of shutting the engine off. Was this done? I think that maybe some homework needs to be done before accusations start flying based on assumptions by a car owner. But, this is a free a wonderfull country that has free speech as part of our god given Liberties......if we had no such liberties.....there would be no Jerry Springer show......and tabloid newspapers....We get so easily ammused by such fictional writings.......I know I am. Thank you for the entertainment.....your opinion has been noted....and taken.....and I really enjoyed it!
