I have been an employee at Jiffy Lube on and off since 2003. I am the assistant mangager/Customer Service Advisor. Basically I am a salesman. Now I work enough hours and bank enough overtime whereas I don't pressure sell anyone because 1)I am not required too and 2)The commissions are not nearly attractive enough! My store is fairly new and one of my jobs as management is to try and grow the business. I do care about my company and as part as my effort, I spend a few hours a week looking at ripoff reports and customer complaints. In my research, both on the job and on the internet, I find that the average Jiffy Lube customer is middle to upper class, doesn't know anything about their vehicle, and looks down on us "dumb high school kids working on your $20,000 roach coach". Suppossedly we're lower and less intelligent then your average american. So who's really stupid here? The lawyer or doctor who drives that 05' BMW and brings it in to have it serviced by us drop outs, or us drop outs who know how to service a $50,000 vehicle and the lawyer who can't even decide between synthetic oil or regular with out using a "lifeline" to call his brother in texas! What amazes me the most is GEE you would think if you thought I was dumb and our techs didnt know s**t about cars, you wouldnt bring your vehicle in and pay an average of $29.99 for the signature service oil change. If you think we're stupid and you don't trust us then what the f*ck are you thinking when you pull up to the door? Thats like asking your friend who's not a doctor to remove a tumor from your brain!! The fact is you can't read(because your average vehicle manufacturer supplies you with an owners manual detailing how to service and maintain your own vehicle), your clueless(you think the 04 chevy cavilier is the best thing since sliced bread even though they have a horrible track record) and your lazy(because when you come in you claim you "can do all the ancilliary services in the yard" and "your a mechanic but you don't change oil"). LOL You people deserve everything you get. I can't begin to explain the type of people I have to deal with. You people talk s**t saying we're dumb but you just bought a $30,000 peice of s**t domestic and you think your intelligent. Your laziness and ignorance should not be mistaken for my level of intelligence. Look in that book that came with your car, get your fat a*s up out of that driver seat and check that oil and tranny every once and a while. Don't call us stupid or scam artists when we tell you "your car needs help". Thats part of the SS oil change. We let you know what the vehicle manufacturer reccomends becuase your to lazy and ignorant to find out for yourself. In reality you don't care now but when the peice of sh*t breaks down because you dont take care of it, its most certainly not your fault, its those highscoolers at Jiffy Lube! Loser
