Jiffy Lube Sweepstakes Scam: Shady company calls and says you've won, but they want $75 Winchester Virginia
While sitting in the Jiffy Lube waiting room, I entered a sweepstakes where you write your information on a card, put it in the box and if they draw your card, you win.
I received a voicemail on Sunday afternoon saying that I won and they would call me back at 5:40pm. They called and told me I won a $200 Jiffy Lube gift card and a three day trip to Massanutten Resort. They were asking me survery questions about my last vacation, too (my first red flag.)
Then after sitting around for ten minutes listening to the woman on the phone talk about how great Massanutten was while my dinner got cold, she asked for my credit card so she could charge me a $75 deposit that I would get back when I arrived at the resort.
I googled the phone number and found many other reports on this scam. I cannot believe Jiffy Lube would be a part of this. Why did they sell my information? I'm never going to a Jiffy Lube again.
