Woman charged with burglary

3:00 PM, Dec. 22, 2011 (Pacific Daily News)

A woman who allegedly stole about $4,600 of furniture from a neighbor has been released without bail after being charged with burglary and theft.

Jolene Tricia Sanchez, 21, allegedly stole a sofa, a loveseat, a queen-sized bed, two desks, two television sets and other electronics from a neighboring resident at the Ocean Breeze Apartments in Piti, according to Superior Court of Guam documents.

Sanchez allegedly tricked another tenant into helping her steal the furniture by pretending she was moving and considering buying some of the apartments, court documents state. The witness told police Sanchez had a set of keys to the apartment, but court documents don't explain how she got the keys.

When confronted by police, Sanchez allegedly said she had permission to take the furniture. Later, after she was in handcuffs, Sanchez allegedly said that "everyone took from the apartments and she was going to take the fall," court documents Sanchez was charged with second-degree felony burglary and theft of property during a court hearing yesterday.

Please call The Guam Police Department if she has stolen from you.
