Joe Self Chevrolet Took advantage of a female customer, was charged 140.00 for an oil change and rotation Wichita Kansas
My wife took her 2007 Hummer H3 to Joe Self Chevrolet for an oil change and tire rotation. When they finished they advised her she owed them $141.10 for this service. She painfully wrote the check and left the dealership. When I found out the cost of this service I contacted the service director. This guy was a real piece of work. He rudely explained to me that they automatically performed a "Maintenance 1" on this new vehicle that had 5,169 miles on it. I told him that the vehicle was not leased, and that my wife did not ask for a "Maintenance 1". He said he had to inspect the brakes and do other inspections. I advised him the vehicle only had 5,169 miles on it and that I truly believed that he had taken advantage of a woman bringing her car in for service. I have never been treated as rude as this individual treated me. He yelled and screamed and eventually hung up on me.
The following Monday I arrived at Joe Self Chevrolet and asked to speak with Joe Self. I was told that Joe Self wasn't there and that I could speak with General Manager John Bell. I told John Bell the story and he said that his service director had called him earlier and conveyed the same story to him. John Bell said he had great faith in his service director. I told him that I felt his dealership did a great disservice to his female ex-customer. I then asked him if he took advantage of all the women that bring their vehicles in for service, a claim that he of course denied. We concluded the meeting by him telling me that he couldn't give me a partial refund because "they already performed the work, and they were not in the habit of returning money on work already performed". Wow! What ever happened to customer service. My family will NEVER buy, lease or take a vehicle in for service at JOE SELF CHEVROLET.
