Joe's Garage West Disassembled car without permission, didn't put back together correctly, tried to coerce into financing at overpriced repair rates Biloxi Mississippi
I brought a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS into Joe's Garage to have them diagnose my car and possibly repair. After I dropped it off they called me 2 hours later and advised it was the heater core and it would be $1,132.90 and I told the lady I did not have that amount of money that I would have to check with my son when he got in from work and I would have to figure out how I could come up with the money. I asked her if they could wait til the next day and she said that would me fine.
In the mean time I called 2 other places, the dealer quoted my $ 689.00 to repair and another garage quoted me $547.00.
After I picked my son up from work we decided to have it fixed elsewhere so we went to Joe's about 15 minutes before they closed. I told the lady I wanted to pick up my car and she advised that she found out only 15 minutes ago that they had taken my car apart.
She suggested since they already had my car apart why didn't I come by in the morning and talk to Joe and I could possibly finance the repairs with him. I told her no I just wanted my car put back together. Again she suggests financing. I say no put my car back together. Again she comes back with financing. I tell her I want my car put back together and I will return at 4:30 the next day to pick it up.
I called the next day out of paranoia and advised my car had better me put back together just like it was when I brought it in and she assured me it would be.
An hour later I get a call from Joe himself and he tells me he is just trying to help me, since they already had my car apart he was offering to finance as help. I advised him he was not helping me because his rates were nearly double what everyone else was charging.
He advised me my car was ready. I went in the garage and they gave me the keys, they didn't charge the $ 28.00 fee for diagnosing the problem.
When I got home I noticed to screws laying on the floorboard and no doubt they are from my cardash that they removed. My car stereo is flashing a code and will not work.
Presently my car has been towed to another garage and with the next day or two I will know if Joe has done anymore damage to my car.
