I went into shop for a vehicle at John Holt Chevrolet after receiving a phone call from them after searching their website.
After looking at 3 different vehicles and deciding on one, they began to work on the financing of the deal. They told me they had received a yes from the bank and could do the deal. I told them I did not have my glasses and could not read any paper work so I ask what the terms would be.
Terms were stated to me as such, 8% at 60 months. Price of vehicle was $23834.00. Amount given for my trade was $6000.00, which $4610.00 was still owed on current loan. I was told carfax check out clean, no problems. I agreed to these terms and sign paperwork. I had to be shown were to sign as I could not make out writing without my glasses.
After a couple week had passed, someone from a body shop was looking at my truck and asked if I knew that it had been wrecked. He showed me where , if you looked closely, you could see the repairs.
After discovering this I returned home, pulled out my paper work and was very upset by what i found. The terms were no where near what I had agreed to. The interest was 18%, the term was 72 months, and they had only given me $3000.00 for my trade, so I had an unpaid balance on the teade roll over to the new purchase.
After dicovering this I decided to purchase a carfax myself. The report clearly states the vehicle had been in an accident and received moderate damage. I would have never purchased the vehicle on this information alone.
I have contacted the sales staff through email and have not received any response.
I went to a larger dealer hoping to avoid any dishonesty. When I stated I could not see the information and asked for specifics, I had no idea I would be completey lied to.
I had also asked how much registration would cost as I might not have the cash on hand to purchase it when it came due. I did this in case I needed it put in as part of the deal. I was never given a specific amount, but was told it would be very little. Well, it is over $800.00 and is now due.
So I now have a vehicle that I can not register at this time that will cost me $13,747.20 more than I agreed to pay.

Well here's were we are at this time. After being contacted by a few of the organizations I filed complaints with, Mr. Holt decided to buy back the truck and pay off the loan. He stated he could get my trade back if I could give him almost $5000.00. I think after ripping me off it should be his responsibility, but we are still working on that. I'm still waiting for the financing bank to send me a copy of the original credit application so that I can pursue the falsifiying of my documents and fraud. I have called the bank about 10 times and they tell me it's on the way. I really want to thank everyone that responded. Most of the actions I have been able to take and am taking were from suggestions from people responding to my post. Thanks again.

a country whose foundation is built on lies, deception, fraud, manipulation, greed, trickery, deep corruption, and the constant pursuit to financially injure the innocent people living in this country and in other countries all over the world.
The U.S. government is corrupt! Wall Street is corrupt! The U.S. legal system is corrupt! The mainstream media in the USA and the legal system protect the corrupt people who control this corrupt country! The banking system and the people in control of the banking system are ultimately in control of this corrupt country! Our country is collapsing! It is collapsing because all of the lies, deception, fraud, manipulation, greed, trickery, deep corruption, and the constant pursuit to financially injure the innocent is being EXPOSED all over the worldwide web.

Send copies of your Ripoff Report to all of your Local TV News stations in your city. Put it to the attention of 'Investigative Reporter'. Make sure to include copies of all the paperwork that the dealership gave you and get a copy of the credit application that was altered from the bank. There is a chance that someone from one of the News stations will contact you and do a story on TV.
If this happened to you, it is logical to conclude that it has happened, and will continue to happen, to other customers who purchase vehicles from John Holt Chevrolet. Exposing the dealership on TV and showing everyone that fraud may have taken place by altering your credit app would be a good story for any of your TV stations, wouldn't you agree?
The fact that they are willing to buy back the truck shows that they know that they did something wrong, in my opinion. My suggestion is to do everything you can to expose them for what they did in order to help others who might end up in your situation.
P.S. You can also 'Google' this- STOP AUTO FRAUD, and go to the related websites and get some free advice. Good luck to you, and keep us updated.

I have filed complaints with several organizations in Oklahoma, contacted an attorney, and called dealership to discuss what they may do to correct this situation. Dealers daughter, who is the one in finance that has you sign the documents, said I needed to let her know what would satisfy me in this situation. She offered to buy back truck, or pau my tt&l plus a few of my payments. I told her I would let her know. I decided to contact another bank to see if it was possible to refinance the truck and they stated I could in 90 days. I called miss Holt back and told her if they paid the tt&l and my first 3 payments I, so that I could refinance, I would drop all action against them. She stated she would tell her father and get right back to me so we could proceed. Well I received a call 2 days later from John Holt saying he had spoke with his attorney and did not have to do anything, but as a jesture on his part, he would contribute to the tt&l. I refused his offer. I do not have the truck, it was on their lot. I went by today and they had taken it off their lot and parked it in the parking lot of a local hotel. I will continue the legal process and post any other updates. I thought I would try and work it out but I guess that will not be possible. Thanks again for everyones help.

CREDIT APP ROCK
(Please sing to the tune of "Jingle Bell Rock".)
Anyone can 'Google' this- SING ALONG CHRISTMAS CAROLS, and click on song #21 and sing the following lyrics to that midi tune.
Here we go- 1, 2, 3, 4....
Falsify, they will lie, they're full of crap
Income is low on his credit app
Scamming and cheating, and screwing the bank
Call your mom and dad and someone text Frank.
Falsify, have them buy, changing the term
Add one more year, make customers squirm
Lying to people most every day
John Holt Chevrolet!
It's a wrecked truck, made a quick buck
The dealership don't care
Went to Ripoff, filed a Report
Everybody now is so aware
Shout it out, spread the word, they're full of crap
Sing this song every day
Something's stinky, it smells like a turd
John Holt Chevrolet!
(Repeat)
POWER TO THE PEOPLE

I believe that exposing your Ripoff Report on the worldwide web was a good idea. A Harvard Business Professor told his class of executives in late 2004 that exposure is a corporation's worst fear. You can stay at this site and type in 269041 and scroll down to the consumer comment entitled "Blame it on a Lawyer" at Ripoff Report #269041 and read more of what the good professor said to his class of executives.

Before we do any business here, we pay respectful homage to Mr. Ed Magedson, without whose long, long hours and justice centerd heart, we would certainly NOT have this luxury of redresss of grievance !!! Thanks, Ed !!!!! May God Bless your family !!!!
Now: Guy, hear this, sir:
Yes, you can get a lawyer involved..... and I want you to that very thing. But, FIRST, there's a little matter of CRIMINAL LAW as well as civil law, here, involved.
Guy, there is something you and others should know: In Oklahoma, the Used Car business is a State controlled business !!! That means two things: (1) You can get these little punks through this State office, and, (2) you can get these little arse-holes through the State Office of Consumer Protection !!!! Plus, for good measure, I'd have me a little chit-chat with the C.I.D. of the Apache, OK Police Department.
Go by there, and fill out a voluntary statement of fraud, and hand it to your Police Chief, and ask for a COPY to take with you. Do exactly what I am saying here. Hold on to that police report. Take it to your local copy shop or local library, a make 5 copies. Put those copies where you can't lose or destroy them.
Now, go KICK SOME ARSE, Guy !
AMEN.

Feel free to 'Google' this- MAIL AND WIRE FRAUD WIKIPEDIA, and read more about it. It is possible that someone at the Chevrolet dealership is guilty of mail fraud if the falsified credit application was sent through the mail, wouldn't you agree? Mail fraud has been a federal crime in the USA since 1872. Make sure to pass this information on to your lawyer.
Good luck to you, and please keep us updated.

I am waiting for a copy of the application from the bank. The rep stated she could read me the information over the phone but had to put in a request for me to receive a hard copy. I have sent an email to the owner of the dealership as I have not received any response from the staff. I plan to meet with an attorney next week. I thank all of you for your responses. I never would have thought to call the bank with out them. Thank you to everyone who has responded. It has been very helpful.

Please feel free to upload a copy of the falsified credit application in order to prove that this car dealership used fraudulent and illegal acts when selling you a vehicle. Thank you.
P.S. Make sure to contact a lawyer. You can also contact the Investigative Reporters at all of your Local T.V. News Stations and provide them with a copy of your Ripoff Report and copies of all the paperwork that the dealership gave you. Maybe one of them will contact you and do a story on T.V. and expose the dealership.

I know it sounds very stupid on my part for not having my glasses, but it has just recently became very difficult for me to see so I don't always have them. I live abou 40 miles from the dealer and just happen to be in the area when they contacted me so I stopped by there on my way home. I alos called the financing bank today and discovered they falsified my credit application as well.

It appears that our politicians are well aware of the fact that car dealerships utilize unethical and illegal acts when selling and leasing vehicles in the USA. However, the car industry apparently makes sure that our wonderful politicians receive money and votes in order to allow all of the fraud, corruption, deception, manipulation, and trickery to thrive at car dealerships all over America.
You can 'Google' this- ELIZABETH WARREN GRILLS GEITHNER, CRITICIZES TREASURY'S FORECLOSURE PROGRAM, and watch that video on the web for proof. Pay close attention to what she says about "car dealers" at about 4 minutes and 50 seconds into that 6 minute and 17 second interview.
WELCOME TO AMERICA- OUR ECONOMY AND OUR GOVERNMENT THRIVE ON FRAUD, CORRUPTION, DECEPTION, MANIPULATION, & TRICKERY AND THAT IS PRECISELY WHY THERE WAS A COLLAPSE OF THE SYSTEM IN SEPTEMBER OF 2008, AND IT IS ALSO WHY THERE WILL BE ANOTHER COLLAPSE IN THE NEAR FUTURE

You went to a dealership to purchase a car on credit and didn't take your glasses...right? You also took the dealer's word for the contract terms...also right? Wow, you must not know car dealers are reputed to be less than straightforward.
Sorry you AND the dealer ripped you off. I'll bet next time you actually read what you sign and agree to.

Guy Many times auto dealers will send fraudulent loan documents to lenders to get you approved behind your back. Let me explain. Let's say you only make $1500 a month gross income. After taxes you take-home $1100 a month This is just for conversations sake. And you fill out the application the credit application and clearly write on it that credit application that you make $1500 a month gross income. Many times the dealership will know right off the beginning that you do not make enough money to buy the car that you want but they do know that you have good credit.
They know A lender will not pick up the loan based upon your truthful income. So what they do is Falsify the documents that they wire over to the lenders for loan approval and lie to the lender and tell them that you make two or $3000 a month gross income. When they do that that is called wire fraud which is against the law.
I suggest you to contact your lender and ask them for copies of the documents that they received from the dealership. See if the dealership lied to the bank in any way shape or form when trying to get your loan approved. If you find untruthful falsified documents that the bank sends you that they got from the dealership you need to contact an attorney Or your states attorney general.
Next you need to contact the lender on the vehicle that you traded in. Ask them if there's a current balance that is owed on the vehicle that you traded in. If there was a balance owed on that vehicle the dealership cannot legally sell the car that you traded in until that balance is paid.
Next we need to talk about if they call you back to the dealership for additional documentation to be signed. If I were in your boots I would not sign not one piece of paper that they ask you to sign to finalize the deal.
They might call you back telling you that this finance manager Forgot to get you to sign some additional documents refused to sign them do not go down there.
Do not I repeat do not sign any more documents that they might ask you to sign. If you do you might be asking for trouble. By the way did the finance manager or the sales manager or the sales representative fill out the credit application for you or did you fill it out ? And I'm very sure that you do not have a copy of that piece of paper.
I encourage people all of the time when you go to a dealership do not let anybody fill out the credit application for you you always fill it out. When somebody ask you to let them fill it out for you so they can speed up the process because they know this documentation very well get up and leave do not ever let anybody fill out the credit application for you because they are trying to control the deal.

Feel free to 'Google' this- CAR SALES: TRICKS OF THE TRADE- DATELINE NBC CONSUMER ALERT, and watch that video on the web. Many car dealerships in the USA will trick their customers by extending the term, just like they did to you and to the young woman in the video.
The car business in America is a reflection of how much of our economy and even our government operate. Fraud, corruption, deception, manipulation, and trickery are what keeps America afloat, at least for now. A massive collapse of our system will eventaully take place, in my opinion.
Good luck to you, and make sure to spread your Ripoff Report all over the web at sites like Twitter and Facebook!
