I called to have my car towed to a tire shop that was2blocks away after a blow out. I would have drove out but didn't want to ruin the rim. I was told the driver would be there in15 minutes but it was a hour before he got there. He hooked it up and towed it 2 blocks to the tire shop. Dropped the car and said it was225 dollars. I called the next day to complain and he said my insurance would reimburse me. I said that's not the point. 225 dollars for two blocks is unheard of! To which he replied is standard towing services charges.

File a complaint with the Illinois Commerce Commission. The tow company is required to give you an estimate in writing before performing a tow.
