John Hopkins is one of the finest, but not for you.
The nurses and the doctors are to blame for illness.
Nurses give vague and patronizing answers to your questions? Perhaps you keep asking the same questions of everyone, over and over again?
The hepatologist kept insisting he was the "healthiest" of all her liver patients and didn't need a transplant? How about, didn't WARRANT a transplant? In other words, there's a ton of information missing here.
An endoscopy was clear, but he almost bled to death 5 days later. That's liver disease too, you know. And they did the endoscopy, no doubt, for a REASON, and I'm guessing, sorry, that your husband was a long-time drunk.
The attending physician flat-out lied about several issues. You flat-out denied several issues.
The ICU nurses refused to offer you a portable phone. d**n the rules, huh?
No one offered any condolences. d**n them, huh? You owe it to yourself to get some condolences.
Not buying this, Diane Bowie from Maryland. If you are a health care provider, you aren't very realistic.

I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's death. I've seen some pretty arrogant, unfeeling doctors myself but I also have some that are friends and I can assure you they would never have treated you or your husband like that. Again, I am so sorry for your pain and this injustice. God speed to you.

Diane, very sorry to hear about your loss! Death is never kind to its victims. The problem is, I'm not sure which treated you and your husband worse, death or the hospital. It's a d**n shame he couldn't have gotten up and moved to another facility. Maybe he was doomed no matter who treated him. But, to hear about the treatment you had to endure! No sane person would want them treating an animal, much less a human being! I suggest you show them the same kind of care and kindness that they showed you. After all, the world revolves on money. Write them a letter. Tell them exactly why they won't be getting paid. Use names and dates as best as you can remember. Why should the doctors ride around in a new Mercedes on your dime? Treat them with the same lack of concern that they showed you. You know, anyone too stupid to realize that they are working on a person, not just a bunch of inflamed tissue, probably isn't smart enough to cure anyone anyway! Thank you for telling the next patient to steer clear of John Hopkins! God bless you,
Debbie

Dear wife of husband that was taken from you. I wish to send a heartfelt sorry to your family. I posted a complaint from the treatment that my father got concerning neglect in a hospital in Alaska. He died after many months of fighting to live. The unsainitary conditions there caused my father to get MRSA Staph infection. I agree that many hospitals and nurses treat family as if they are not important. The rude attitudes and the disdain are a reflection of todays healthcare systems. They are allowed to treat famil this way because no one stands up. Contact your state representative and your governors office, Make them listen to your concerns thats what they are in office for. Stand up for what you know is right and make them hear the truth about it. Keep the faith best regards and smypathy Debbie from Oregon
