John's Pizza overcharges customers and has lousy service!

On their menu they have a $1.75 charge for soda with free refills, but what they don't tell you is that they're lazy and shiftless. So rather than coming to your table to refill your soda, they give you a pitcher of soda. At the end they charge not by the number of people that had soda but the number of pitchers they gave you. This is totally fraudulent since they don't even have a picture price on their menu.

We went to John's Pizza and had 12 people drinking soda and 3 drinking water they charged us for all 15 people drinking soda and based on the fact that they brought 3 pitchers of soda and then replace 2. 1 was left on table 1/2 filled. When I told them only 12 people drank sodas they said I could charge you for 5 pitchers or 15 glasses. Which was about $5.25 too much.

When I tried to reason with the waitress she walked away. The lady at the register was no help as well. When I called back and asked to talk to the manager I was told the person I was talking to was the owner Josie and she could do what she wanted and hung up on me.

We were overcharge and charged a 15% gratuity for someone bringing out 3 pizzas and a few pitchers of soda. She didn't serve the pizza we did this ourselves. Nor did she pour the soda. She didn't even pass out the plates. We did that as well. The service was lousy, we had get up to find our waitress, and the owner is rude!! And all they advertise on their menu that they give you refills on the soda they make up for it by charging you for drinks that you didn't have.

if they're still around!! We used to go to John's Pizza in Addison when I was a child - over 30 years ago. If they're still in business, that tells me that they must be doing something right, and that you are just nit-picking. I may have to get down there and visit good ole' Johns again!!

First of all, I have no connection whatsoever to John's Pizza other than being a customer. I do know that John's Pizza is a neighborhood favorite for these reasons: great food, great service, and it is independently owned. They are not in business for all these years because they "rip off" customers. Part of the welcoming atmosphere there has a great deal to do with the fact that you can bring big groups of people in there and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere without feeling like you are out of place. You are not the first group to ever enter the restaurant and therefore, they do have experience regarding the best way to make the group dining experience easier and better. Serving pitchers of soda is much easier for the entire group to constantly have refills. It would be a nightmare for the person hosting the group to have to keep track of each and every person's glass and calling back the waitress every time it needed refilling. Even if you feel you didn't get the best deal possible and were out five bucks...was it worth making an issue out of it and if so, were you nice about it? There must of been some sort of an occasion for 15 people to be out together..you can either enjoy your group and have good memories of the outing or go on the rampage bashing the restaurant over 5 bucks. Life is what you make of it. I gaurantee if you were pleasant about your inquiry they would have bent over backwards to make you happy. Did you throw out the "I'm telling others about this ...." line, too? I can almost bet you did and that is NOT in the spirit of small town family restaurants. There are hardly any of these left anymore because chain restaurants are pushing them out. John's does a lot for the community so please, get over yourself.
