I thought something was odd when Jon Ribary didnt want me to use L.T.D. Homes in the voice mail greeting on the company phone. I should have ran for life right then and there.

I was promissed a bonus at the end of Framing a huge custom house. I went home and told my family about the news. They were more than excited. My wife asked, " Do you think you will have it by Christmas "? I said sure. Well, there was no bonus. When confronted with the issue, Ribary made all the excuses in the world and said " Maybe on the next one ". With things the way they are lately, that bonus meant everything and he knew it.

He paid me under the table and talked about someday doing things on the up and up. That didnt happen .

Then, all of the sudden, on a project in Issaquah, he told a co-worker and myself that we were not getting paid by the hour, but by the project. I said to Ribary " Im not a lisenced contractor ". Thats how they paid us from that point on. On the average, I was paid 6 days late. Only after pleading.

The one that really got me was the adds on Craigs list for Labor help. They would show up eager to work and get paid, work for a week and never see thier pay.

I can think of 5 contractors who havent been paid in full right off the top of my head. Un believeable amounts of money. These companies did great work in a timely fassion and for lack of a better word " GET SCREWED "!

I have been in the construction industry for quite a while and never have I seen anything so crooked! Hire people with no intention of paying them in full if at all.

Ribary knows absolutely nothing about building a home and leans on his help to provide every answer he needs to look like a big shot. When in truth, he's a fake.

I pray that no one else suffers the Ribary experience!!!

I found the comments expressed by "Ustiss" were extremely uncalled for. Any time you work for someone if you feel that something isnt "up to par", it is soley your responsibility to be a "big boy" and deal with the sitiuations. If you were promised a bonus and didnt get it, why did you stayon to be employed by this company to move on to another job in Issaquah as you stated...you there for put yourself in an uneasy situation. You had the opportunities to leave, and with all your negativity...perhaps you should have alot sooner. the econemy has suffered greatly...you should have been thankful for what you had not matter how little that was, you could have reported him to the BBB but you didnt, you could have reported him to L & I but you didnt, you could have reported im to the Internal Revenue Service, but you didnt, then you leave because you dont get a bonus and compalin about this buisness....What I dont understand is why if you say you have been in the construction industry for quite a while then at the same time openly admit your not a licensed contractor. You should have gotten paid by the hour, by your own admission you clearly state that your not licensed and that was "after" the 1st job you said you did. Perhaps if you were a licened contractor you would know more about how to deal with a so called business you say is "screwing" people. Mr. Ribary...I wish you luck with your endevors.

Are you kidding me on this response Mike. If ANYONE has ANY questions, please give me a call and I will be MORE THAN HAPPY to share with you my books and all emails between mike and I regarding what he is talking about here. First Mike, you were paid as a contracted employee due to you wanting to save on taxes. You received a 1099 for all work you did in 2008 and you will receive one for 2009. The real question is did you claim those earnings? You also stated it would take you 6 days to get paid. I would be curious if 6 days is more than the industry standard right now. You were ALWAYS PAID... I even gave you a gas card. You also forgot to mention you stopped showing up after you were put in jail... WITH YOUR DAUGHTER IN THE CAR?!?!? What type of example are you setting for your children? As far as the bonus, we spoke MANY times that you were about 8 weeks over on the project and you would not be paid a bonus because there was no money... and the bonus was there IF we were finished on time... NOT 8 weeks late... which was also DOUBLE the time you initially said it would take. In the end, Mike ALL people I brought to work on the site (Craigslist or not) were paid. If you look back the only people I do not continue to work with are the people you brought. Remember your buddy the framer who would come to the site drunk??? Finally, you were doing a horrible job. You did a horrible job on the beams and I was left paying to redo the crappy work you were doing. You were switched to per job instead of per week because every time I came to the site you were drinking coffee, smoking, or looking in to space. The best thing that happened to me was you being arrested because you didn't come back... but if you remember, I was also your first call to bail you out... which I went to do, but you were already out... but you wouldn't know that because we never talked again.
