Complaint Review: Joshua Mc Clure DBA Troopal Strategies - Internet

I purchased Troopal Craigslist Auto Posting software when it first came out early this year, Jan of 2009. I was one of their first customers. And a loyal customer at that. At the time of purchase I paid 400 dollars for the posting software; we were offered two packages, which included use of their forum as well as use of their craigslist marketing software. I choose the "Professional Package" at $79.95. They were also offering a $19.95 Basic membership which included simply access to their forum - nothing extra.

At the time of purchase, owner Joshua Mc Clure, in order to gain trust and business, spent several weeks PRing his software and his Professional Membership. We were told the Pro Membership would include "Perks"; however those perks were never defined. The genius of Joshua Mc Clure's scam was his ability to string his customers along by using the many technical problems associated with this software, inherant within the marketing industry, to weave several scenarios around this so-called Pro Membership, thereby creating the illusion of value - but without ever actually providing any additional value whatsoever!

Customers we told that Troopal Strategies software would rarely see downtime; we were told this would be made possible Troopal Strategies use of dual servers, one server as a backup in the event that the first server failed. We were told that as Pro Members we would be receiving perks in the form of enhanced software and quicker attention to techinical difficulties.

The reality is that there was no difference between the Basic $19.95 forum and the Pro Membership $79.95 forum. None. Pro members received nothing additionally, but customers continued signing up for Pro membership because Joshue Mc Clure is a con man who routinely used downtime and technical difficulties to reassure his customers that his software would work in the first place - and so deftly was this scam that most customers rarely spoke out; the few who did were deleted.

I spoke out finally. I was deleted, and banned and no longer permitted to use the software at all.

I paid $400.00 for the software PLUS $79.95, for 10 months. That's nearly $800.00 just to be able to USE the software...while I sat around wondering, hoping that I was getting something of value. The value never showed up.

Joshua Mc Clure is now being sued by craigslist for violation of copyright law, and not only continues to accept payment for his craigslist marketing software, but he has raised the price to be able to actually USE this software - there are no more $19.95 monthly fees; those have been raised now to $59.95.

Why anyone in their right mind would pay this man money is beyond me. There are several other posting software companies in business whose fees are not ridiculous, and who actually give their customers value for their bucks.

If you're thinking of purchasing Troopal Strategies software, consider this: your time being able to use this software is limited by the time it takes craigslist to finally force Joshua Mc MClure (sole owner and operator) to shut down business - and when that finally does happen, you're also out of business.
