I know this guy, Joshua Turin, in the same way you do, I paid him in full back in 2008 and to date nothing has been done. He never sent the information of my original documents to the NVC, they had insisted they did sent the documents. I kept calling the NVC to check for myself, after months went by I became increasingly frustrated, who was lying Turin or NVC?
I finally told the receptionist I was going to get my entire file and I expected it to be ready when I got there, of course she "did not have it and possibly turin had it at home." I kept bugging her and insisted she find it and to make me an appointment to pick up my file since I know they are extremely good about charging you a fee if you show up without an appointment.
I went at my appointment time, to my dismay the rep confessed the file had been in the office all along, and the original documents that were supposed to be sent to the NVC a loooong time ago were still there. She immediately volunteered to finish out the work and send them herself. I got that sinking feeling you get when you find out you have been cheated, stolen from, and betrayed... I cannot help it think, this is no innocent mishap. If I would have played nice and not be too insistent, I would still be here, getting the run around... and WAITING! Which is unfortunately how many people in my situation are all in efforts to not make the Turin staff mad at them... but I never forgot... I hired him, he is working and serving me! Not the other way around.
I was extremely upset and told her I would not trust her taking care of a rock much less my original foreign country documents that were extremely difficult to obtain! I would send them myself.
Now that I am in direct contact with the NVC and USELESS Joshua Turin "middleman" out of the way, things are going along much smoother, with ease, and I am quite surprised how the NVC is so organized my entire case will be done end of August!!
Of course, I have not received any apologizes much less my money back, but I am not through with them. I have contacted the State Bar of Texas and through the CAAP program I am reporting him, The Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel sent me a form.
I URGE you to do the same. Fortunately, I did not have a good feeling about him from the beginning, so I recorded all my conversations over the phone and in person. I definitely have alot of juicy details and I feel confident once the State Bar Rep sees my report the sh*t will hit the fan!
I am not just doing this for me... I am doing this for you and people like you... I also have a recording of a very disappointed foreign couple that was there in the waiting room with me, they had been waiting for any news for over a year, way less than me, but still I could not help press the record button and knowing they are at the beginning of a dead end road. So you see we are not the only victims.
Hopefully you will get this message and do as I am doing to stop Joshua, and his equally incompetent co-workers/employees.
