One evening at 6.30 pm approximately two weeks ago I heard a knock on my door and when I opened the door I saw a young lady who introduced herself to me that she was a student from North Carolina who to gain points for trip to Europe trying to get customers to subsrcribe for certain magazines. I was not at all interested and I told her I was not in the position to listen to more of what she was trying to tell me. She insisted that I could subsribe for a little girls' magazines and that caught my nine daughter's interest. My daughter started to put pressure on me that she was interested in reading the magazine. At that point I felt guilty of not getting an educational piece of material for my daughter to read. I told the scammer that I could only give her a post dated check of the minimum $53.00 which could cashed only on the date written on the check which is 03/22/11. I was shocked to find out today 03/15/11 that the check had been cashed and that created and overdraft on my checking account. When I contacted the back I was told they had no information about the company except their acronym M.F.A. When I decided to go online to find out the company there was none. Even the bank through which the check was cashed "QUANTUM NATIONAL BANK" could not be identfied. When I looked at the signature behind the check posted on my bank's website the name signed was Josie Deff. This indivdual is a criminal that needs to be removed from the streets as soon as possible and given a longterm prison term. I can still identify her face and if one day in the future she comes to my door by mistake she will get the worst of me because I will immediately alert the Police.

you should never have given anyone a postdated check. I cant believe in this day and age you postdated a check and then have the nerve to come here and b***h because it got cashed.  That's like trying to float checks, it simply doesnt work anymore.  Also.FYI...a bank seldom if ever even looks at the date on a check. What if it's deposited via a night deposit? DO you honestly think a bank is gonna pull that aside and just hold it? NOT.  They're all payable on demand now.

The solicitor may have been skanky to begin with but  so were you

A bank will not allow a check to be cashed before the date printed on it...if your bank did, then i suggest finding another bank.  That is not a good business practice.
