Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I called chase to find out why my account ending in 1041 was closed with out warning.
I failed to make a payement in september and that was there excuse on why they closed it. I also had called in about 3 weeks ago to have a new card sent out, at wich point the rep told me over the phone that they were tracking i was deceased. I fixed that problem and they issued a new card. In witch keep in mind never was recieved on my end because they had my address misspelled even after the 3rd time of me telling them.

One would find it funny, how can a dead man pay on a credit card if hes dead? would that be considered some sort of fraud or misconduct? now my phone number on the account is up to date and completly accurate. so why am i not being called or emailed? The rep told me we apologize for not contacting you and a letter wasnt issued to you. I'm sorry doesnt fix problems.

Will they going to pay for my minutes i use for the massive amounts of time on hold and all the different people they keep putting me off on because no one has the answer so they just shove off responsibility. after battling for an hour they finally gave in and reopened the account. they also said if the account is closed or not the individual is still required to make payments. my retort to that is "come get your money I will be in Afghanistan in 5 months".

This is not the first problem i have had with them. they closed a checking account that i had for 5 years without warning. A mix up had happened were automatic funds transfer was trying to withdraw money. now that is my mistake on my part but instead of calling me to inform me of this they let it go on for weeks resulting in over draft fees and charges up to 500 dollars. Now your wondering why dont you track it all the time yourself? Well being in an active duty Army i dont exactly get all the time in the world and am not always around access to the web.

my complaint here is that they have no professionalism and do not care about their customers all they care about is how much more they can get from you
this big corporation i feel is extremely corrupt and has no principles to follow by, im even questioning the legality of all of this.

according to articles on the web.

'Google' the following and read them for proof-

BANK EXECUTIVES PROFITING ON THE DEATH OF EMPLOYEES

JP MORGAN CHASE COMPLAINTS SECRET LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES

Something to consider: If JP Morgan Chase would take out these policies on its own employees, it wouldn't be surprising to me if they've also taken out the same kind of policies on some of their customers, right?

They obviously have their customer's social security #'s, dates of birth, addresses, and all of the other info necessary in order to take out  'secret life insurance policies', correct?

*Check and see if there are any 'life insurance policies' on your life that you are not aware of, if you can, okay?

Let all of us know if you find anything.

P.S. If you 'Google' this- WHO OWNS THE FED?, and go to the site with the 5 charts you'll see that J.P. Morgan Co appears in 'Chart 1', right?
Maybe it's time to transfer all of your credit card accounts and bank accounts to a locally owned & operated Credit Union, wouldn't you agree?

Good luck to you.

..I do not notice anything they did was illegal. Lousy customer service and blunders are not illegal. I use Chase but only for a free checking debit card, not a credit card so I don't have any personal experience with their ethics issues, only what I read on complaint reports. I should note however that they try RELENTLESSLY to get me to sign up for overdraft coverage..but dispute their futile efforts, I know better. I will not give them the opportunity to financially fleece me.

My experience with Chase so far has been trouble free. But I do read about plenty of questionable ethics issues from them with just about every other service they offer.

I also can not understand why they did not call or email if they had that contact info on record. I would think if a payment is late they do all they can to contact you to collect. Sure you had to pay for the air time on the phone, but I have read that there is a bank or banks that actually charge the customer when the customer calls them..be thankful Chase did not do that too.

As far as collecting a debt from the deceased, if it was not a joint account, they still may go after the spouse..but this law varies state to state. Sometimes they can not collect from anyone if the account holder dies..but certainly they can legally close an account alive or dead if the payment is late, right or wrong. Even if due to an error on their part I doubt they will take any responsibility for the time, effort, hardships or phone calls it cost you..they will just reinstate it. This goes for all banks it seems...if you make a mistake you are held 100% responsible for it and any resulting fees THEY choose to charge you..if they make any mistakes however...well lets just say I am surprised they even apologized.

As far as you being deployed they don't care..oh they "should" being that you are risking your life and serving the country they operate it..but they don't have to care. To them it does not matter the reason you are late, or the reason they can not contact you or you can not contact them..all they care about is..you guessed it...themselves. And unless they violate any laws in doing so..you have to live with it or try a different bank/credit union that can better suit your personal needs.
