Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

All old sayings and expressions have not been created in gest.  In particular, Buyer Beware!

It's amazing the level of con artistry that is out there.  In that I was impressed.  However, I was not impressed when this particular con ripped off my husband who is 68 years old and was looking for a way to make a modest income, as his pension is only about $200/month.  So this person saw us and honed in!  At a trade show for jewelry - John Renner has quite a display, sells Southwest Silver and Turquoise Jewelry, beads, and holy cards.  Has a really nice shop in New Hope PA called JRs Southwestern Trading right on the main drag that does fairly well I think.  He managed to sell us $4,000+ worth of gemstone beadstrands (old, not the good ones, worth much less than he sold them to us for) 400 pairs of earrings that he said we could sell at a flea market for $8.00/pair - guess what - we can't even get what we paid for them of $4.00/pair.  Total misrepresentation and fraud.  We also saw his brother selling these beads for $6.00/strand at a flea market when he told us we could sell them for $8.00

His whole shtick was to "teach us" how to sell and what sells at a flea market based on his 20 years of experience.  Thought he was a nice guys but I'm sure he was laughing all the way to the bank.  What galls me is that these types of "nice guys" prey on people like my husband, elderly and a really nice guy who would never tell anyone directly to shove off which is what we should have done right off or who really don't have an extra $4,000 to throw around. We really believed him!  So now we're out $4,060 and have made about $135 so far in 5 times at the flea market.  And nobody wants or even looks at the beads or earrings.

Best con I've ever seen - this guy should be in the movies.  How he sleeps at night I only wonder.

So any folks retired or looking for extra income or buying beads for beading or jewelry - stay away from this one!

You Must be Thinking of Someone Else

I think you must be thinking of a different John Renner. After this purchase, which took place in our home by the way and you couldn't have been there, I'm sure I would have noticed, John did not respond to any voice mails, messages or emails from us.

We then noticed his brother (who HAD been at the sale at our home) at a Flea Market selling the same merchandise for what he had sold it to us and less. And our purpose was to sell at flea markets which he knew. His brother hid from us when he noticed us.

I don't think we're small minded, but very disappointed that someone took advantage of us, big time. I hope it never happens to you.

I was so alarmed to see this nasty and untrue report on John Renner, I have known him for 3 years and have bought thousands of dollars worth of silver and turquoise from him and have recommended him to all my friends, no one has ever had a complaint. I happened to be there when this couple bought the gemstones and earrings and he DID NOT coerce anyone into buying anything. I am sorry they were unable to sell them, but that has nothing to do with the product. He is a very warm and giving person and he spent a lot of time with them he was trying to help them. Your ugly remarks about laughing all the way to the bank just shows the kind of small and mean spirited person you are.
