BE AWARE...JSTARR Advertising falls within all of the comments mentioned above. My scepticism began when I was asked to provide my social security number and drivers license number on the application. MMM...

I sent my resume in a basic word file. I was asked to copy and paste my resume. MMM...most advertising HR departments have a computer that can handle receiving various types of documents.

They never called, but emailed me to call NOW!!!! Then I was asked to come in the same day. MMM...

Two rooms with acccess to and from the front office into the interview office-ONLY!

No cubicles, generally a necessity in sales, marketing advertising or any business for that matter. MMM...

The business card provided by the "Recruiting Manager" had a different last name on her card than advertised. Not too unusual but questionable never the less. She was way too chipper for a phone answering secretary, thus, indicating she definately was not getting paid $12 an hour, but she had a much higher vested interest. More people more money...MMM...

The email address provided by the owner and Recruiting Manager was an identical "hotmail" account. Most Ad agencies have enough money to get a real account. MMM...

I was scheduled at 2:30 and their were 8 people in the waiting room. Our names were called two at a time, to meet with John, which I was told was the owner.

A picture in his office included him holding a gals waist who looked distincly similar to the "Recruiting Manager." Although it may not have been her? MMM...

His desk did not have an ounce of paper on it. Most CEO's Owners, CFO's, okay, anyone in business have nicely stacked or stacks of paper work on their desks. MMM...

I was invited to the interview office with another gentleman. As we both sat there and listened to his "You want my position" quick car salesman like pitch. Neither one of us could get a word in edgewise. My thoughts, he spoke so fast because he was trying to "sell us" something? But I never could put a finger on what. It was very unclear. As if he was embarrased to say? Most interviewers want to know about you and the two resumes they have in front of them. MMM...

I asked "why their are so many people in the waiting room and if the turnover for this company is high." His response was "he was trying to find the very best."

Huh...If he didn't ramble on so fast and get to know the people he was interviewing he might have the very best! Revolving doors raised a serious question for me. MMM...

I received the call at 4:45 tonight, got the same line "You lucked out-You have been invited back for tomorrow."

I was told, "Don't wear your Stelletto's (SP) "Wear confortable shoes." How very nice of him to say, although I agreed to show up at 8:30 in the morning. I have since decided to wear my "comfortable shoes," slippers and I'm going surfing....

Be Aware of credibility when you notice or feel in your gut something or anything is questionable. Because it is!!!

Always question the legitimacy of ANY Company before you agree to a position.

My thoughtful funny feeling today prompted me to research further... and this page is what I found!!!

MMM...Thanks...

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Sat, July 21, 2007

I am a former contractor of j starr...Johnny is a liar. flat out. he does not "provide jobs" for anyone. He tricks young people who dont have a lot going for them into being slaves. He brainwashes you into believing your going to make a lot of money, and has tricked so many good people into staying for periods of time that are so long they lose thier family. I lost mine, and I know a few others that lost thiers. He yells at every leaders meeting for no apparent reason, other than he idolizes jaime hepp, and thats what jaime did so he must do it to. the rediculouse belittling that goes on in his and every dsmax biz, is un- called for and flat out rediculouse. oh and Johnny- its Bureau... not burrow, which is where your business belongs. Finally, Johnny condoned and hid the fact that his assistant manager beat me up- I was his girlfriend/administrator (big mistake)- everyone BEWARE!!!

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, January 06, 2005

Wow, this person who made this report makes no sense and has not shared anything specifically that's illegal or even unethical about my company. What do pictures on a wall, or papers on a desk have to do with the validity of any company. If you want truth go to a company/web sight that has a perfect reputation, i.e. The Better Business Burrow, I have No Complaints and a perfect "A" rating, and reading things like this comment is disappointing considering how hard I work in providing jobs for over 85 people in two different states.
