Went in asking for front pad replacement and possibly rotors due to grinding noise. Was offered replacement of all brakes including the fix of one "frozen" rear brake at a cost of about $850. I asked if they could just replace the front pads and I would have my family mechanic due the rest, I was told they could not do it. I refused the offer and the manager instructed the techs to "lower the car". I waited in the office. A tech returned the car to the front and handed me the keys. I went to the counter asking for the price of the diagnostic, I was told it was free of charge. I said thank you and started to walk towards my car. I noticed the driver side(front) wheel had a puddle of fluid around it. As I started my car and backed up, I realized I no longer had brakes because the pedal went all the way down but the car did not stop. Luckily I avoid an accident by slamming on my emergency brakes. After parking I went back to the office and told them my car was not operable. I was told that I had come into the shop with bad brakes and there was nothing they could do unless I paid them the $850 to fix the entire brake system. I calmly went to my car and called their online customer service number(# from my cell phone internet). Was told they would contact the store and investigate. They returned my called only to fuel more anger. The customer service rep. told me I was offered a lesser price to fix my car and that I was told the car was no longer operable. He also stated that they had to break the seal to show me how bad the breaks were. These statements just made me angry because they were simply not true. When I entered the store, I was asked to sign off on the estimate of $99 for all four brakes and that the pads were only good for 45K miles. The Cust. Svc Rep now states I signed off on the car not being driveable and was offerred a lower price. I was not even offered a copy of the report. All this was told to me after I had the car towed to my house for $120 and about 1 hour later. Safety here was not even considered. I was not even told my brakes would not work after they inspected my car.

I recently had my car repaired by my mechanic. Front pads and rotors were needed. Back brakes were not "frozen". And the front calipers were damaged by Just Brake trying to separate the front pads from the calipers. That's why all the brake fluids were on the ground at the parking lot. $300 should have been the cost of my brakes but due to the calipers needing replacement, the cost was now $600. This price is still much lower than the $850 despite the extra damage Just Brakes caused. My gripe here is mainly for the lack of safety concern and the bait and switch tactic they performed. They also fabricated their story by writing the report 1 hour after the fact and failing to give me a copy of their report.

I hope this communication serves to protect other consumers for their lack of safety concerns. It's too bad because their radio commercials state "We really do care". I have contacted the Better Business Bureau of Dallas and filed a complaint since they are/were members. I am looking for other mediums to make sure this is communicated. I hope this site serves that purpose.
