That is when I buy my bedding, because it is cheaper. But at the same time, I know that if there are none of my bed size in stock to get a rain check. Because after the sale is done, it will go back to its orginal price. I'm only questioning if she knew her bed size, why buy another size at the lower price knowing that it didn't fit her bed.

NOt only do I remember the sale that she's talking about, but other stores in the area have the same "any size, one price" sales. The stores quite often run out of one size (queen and king are the first to go), and you are encouraged to purchase a different size, and return the item for the correct size once it's back in stock. As I myself purchase bedding for 9 different beds, I quite often run into this situation. In my case, I've always been told to save the receipt for the return for the correct size, which unfortunately the OP didn't seem to have. Another slick trick that Kmart uses is a computer system for 'no reciept returns' that takes the LOWEST price in the nationwide system to refund your money... if the local store discounted an item at $5, but your store in BFE, S. Dakota discounted the same item for $1, you will receive the $1. for your return. This is a ridiculous policy in my opinion, since what are the chances that I'm going to go all the way from MI to BFE to save $4?? All that being said, the OP should have saved her receipt, but the actual practice of buying one size and returning it upon restock is common (it saves the store from having to issue rain checks, thereby saving them a step in paperwork for the item that you wanted.).

You bought the wrong size to begin with, for $29 with the intention of exchanging for the larger size when the came in. When they came in the larger size was $54. You paid $29, that's a $25 difference, not $15. Now you're chapped, the final sale price was $12.40. Because you don't have a receipt that's all they'll give you. You can't have it both ways. Good try though.

But you bought one anyways? Sorry, but I'm not believing you here. I have often found sales on bedding that my queen size bed is sold out of. Have I bought the bedding? NO!!!! Because what is the point in buying bedding that you know is NOT going to fit your bed?

How do they know that you didn't buy it during the sale for $12.40? That's the purpose of getting a receipt, to PROVE that you purcahsed a certain item on a certain date at a certain price. Is it really that hard to have a large envelope or s****.?
