On May 19th I placed an order with Katom.com to purchase a Vollrath Stir-fry pan.  I had been looking at this particular product for some time and once I decided to purchase I searched for the best price.  Thinking that a Restaurant Supply store would be my best choice I went with Katoms.  The price was the best I found on line and the item was listed as "Typically ships in 1-3 Business Days".  The order was placed on a Monday and should have shipped by Friday (May 23) of the same week.  When I didn't receive a shipping notification I checked my account on their websiite and discoverd that the item description had been changed to "Typically ships in 9-13 business days".

I checked daily to see if the order had shipped and watched the status change from "processing" to "order received".  I waited until May 30 to email the company to find out what was going on.  I was promised the order would ship that day and that I would receive an invoice as well as a shipping notification via email later the same day.  As I expected, I didn't receive either of the promised infromation.

I replied to the promised shipping email that I had not received a shipping confirmation or invoice as promised and the item was still showing as processing in my account.  I asked that the order be cancelled if it had not shipped as promised and I would order it from another vendor.

I received a reply that inventory count was showing Qty-1 of the item I wanted but they couldn't find the item in the warehouse.  Customer service did suggest that I settle for a "non-stick" version of the same carbon steel wok.  Then I was asked to let them how I wished to proceed.  I replied to "Cancel the order.  I avoid non-stick cookware when possible".

I received no response to my request to cancel.  It's now June 3 and the order is again processing and the item is now listed as "Typically ships in 1-3 business days".  How these people stay in business is beyond me.  I will never again shop at Katom.com and strongly recommend that potential customers stay away from them as well unless you enjoy waiting weeks for your order to ship and being lied to again and again.
