Ever since I bought my 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS at Kevil Chevrolet which by the way I paid $32,000 for I have had nothing but problems. Each time I brought the car back to the dealership I was told it was either driver error or they could find nothing wrong with it.  The vehicle went through two sets of front tires within the first year and I was told I had to buy the tires through Kevil Chevrolet because of the low profile tire. This was false. I have $99 tires on the front of my car now that have lasted me almost 2 years.   I brought my car in last month because the door locks were locking and unlocking all by themselves. I was charge $213 to replace the switch. Less than one month later I got locked in my car, unable to get out. I took the car to a dealer closer to my job and I was told it would cost another $207 to replace an automator. (whatever that is). I was told they could not understand why they would replace a switch when the automator was bad.  I called Kevil Chevrolet and Mr. Popek response was, and I quote: "It worked when it left here didn't it".  A door lock has now cost me $420.  I was totally ripped off. From the moment I walked in the door and I still have another 4 years left to pay for this car.

As a manager at Kevil Chevrolet I am writing in response to the allegations stated in the above matter and will address each situation.

We find it unfortunate to hear that you were unhappy in your recent service visit to Kevil Chevrolet and have offered a store credit in a gesture of goodwill.  As we do strive to keep all of our customers happy.

I have spoken to all parties that have been involved with your visits to Kevil Chevrolet and am writing in response today.

In your initial statement that you were overcharged and given false information about your tires, we gave you a price on the tires that were on the car and back that price with a tire price guarantee.   And as far as the car going through 2 sets of front tires in the first year is an indication of excessive wear due to driving habits, and we have employees here that have witnessed somebody other than yourself driving the car harshly and spinning the wheels from a stop. Which would cause excessive wear.

As far as a purchase price of the vehicle, it was 26,400.00 and came with an additional 1500.00 rebate.

As to problems you state that werent duplicated or driver error, we had a World Class technician drive in the vehicle with you to understand your concerns better.  During the drive you informed the technician that you have not driven a manual transmission in many years.  The same technician drove the car and found the operation of the vehicle to be fine.

We do take all of our customer concerns very seriously and do not just dismiss them.

The situation with the door locks was determined to not be due to a defective part, but to the fact that a liquid was spilled on the switch causing it to short out.  And both door locks were not working due to the damaged switch.  When your actuator replaced at another dealer that would only control the lock operation of one door of the car not both. When we replaced the switch the lock actuators were working fine and the automatic locks were functioning normally.

Also for future information you cannot get locked in your car with no way out, there are manual lock knobs on each door. So if there is a failure in the automatic locking system you can still unlock the door. Refer to your owners manual for more information on the door locking system.

To conclude, Kevil Chevrolet finds it very disheartening to hear of any kind of negative situation from any of our customers and strives to give the best service we can.

The Vice President at Kevil Chevrolet heard my complaint and made good on a deal gone bad.  Just goes to prove that just because you have bad representation in a department of your business it doesn't always have to end badly.  Oh..and its called an ACTUATOR not an automator.  Shows you how much I know about cars.
