I am very upset with Key Bank. I opened an account with them about one month ago. The staff was very friendly and nice when I opened the account.

One day I deposited my pay check into my account, this was a friday. I was not aware that I would not have access to my money untill the next business day. I had no money all weekend.

I work for a company were I do alot of traveling during the day and needing money for gas is essential for me. So no money and no gas makes it difficult to get places.

I also never purchased checks, all I felt I needed was my atm and debit card, which they deactivated on me when I was trying to access my money over the weekend. Then they charged my account for a returned check, (twice).

I dont have checks so my question is how is this possible. Of course they did not have a good reason. So needless to say I said forget it this is rediculous in the one month that I had an account with these people I was ripped off over $60. During this time of year this is alot of money to me.

But also to tip it all off I had $36.20 left in my account when I decided to close it and I only recieved $11 of it back because there was a $25 early close out fee. What a crock of bull.

I have never seen such a terrible place to do business with.

I have been with Key bank for almost a year. Well this past week there ATMS were down twice when my husband went to deposit his paycheck for bills etc. So I waited till Friday which was the following evening and went across town to deposit the money. OK I thought all is good. Well come to find out I had 4 things bounce and one was a check the other 3 were measley debits for gas. Anyways I was furious as we do most of our transaction through the atm and I felt since the machine was down they should refund my fee's. WRONG. The manager I think her name was Amy told me she had to call the ATM dept and look on a list. Well the list said they were up all day. WHich is a load of crap. So since they called me and my husband a liar and will not refund our 116 in fees I am taking my business elsewhere including our new mortgage in January. They will loose alot of money from us now. Buy the way I do balance my checkbook but because the machines were down when my husband normally deposited his check I had no way of knowing to cancel the bills until after the holidays. Load of Crapola...I worked 3 years for a credit union and we never treated our customers this way. This is bad bad business. Stay away from Key bank..Unless you like fee's and you like being called a Liar.

If I am reading your statement correctly, a return check fee is for a check that YOU DEPOSITED, not one that you wrote.
