We purchased a brand new 2012 Keystone Outback 301BQ Travel Trailer from Holman Motors in September of 2011.  We waited many years to find the right camper to purchase and finally found the "one".  We loved the floor plan and all the options the Keystone Outback had to offer.  We thought we were getting a great deal from Holman Motors.

We were happy with our purchase during the ride home from the dealership.  After that, we had numerous issues that began to occur.  We were told at the date of pick up that we should make a list of all issues that came about during the first year and wait to bring in our camper until the year warranty was coming close to expiring.  So that's what we did.

Some items were small items such as inside trim repair and stripped screws.  Other more serious items include electrical failures, refrigerator failures, air-conditioning malfunctions, water leaks and cracks in the outside fiberglass walls.  All items were brought to the attention of Holman Motors service department.  They fixed the obvious but did nothing with the electrical, refrigerator or A/C issues.  They all tested "ok".

Since that initial trip to service, we have continued to have the same and other problems occur.  The camper has been at Holman Service 10 times for over 178 days and 25% of its purchased life.

We have had an electrical issue that has occurred since owning the camper that Holman Motors and Keystone RV have been "unable to duplicate".  They say this even after witnessing this issue occur while the camper was at their facility.  They replace parts that have been tested as "ok" and they have stated do not need to be replace.

We no longer feel it is safe to use this camper.  My families safety is at risk!  It has had too many electrical issues not to have something major wrong with the electrical system.  And it gives me no peace of mind to replace parts that are not the cause of this issue.

Take my advice and think twice before buying a Keystone RV product!  I know that all RV manufacturers may have quality control issues, but Keystone RV has no customer service starting the day after you drive the camper off the lot.  And they obviously have no concern for your safety!

Holman Motors has provided mediocre service at best and have also created problems.  They did not bother to winterize our camper or allow us to do so while it was in their possession in early fall through winter.  Thus creating numerous freezing issues.  They also ripped our roof lining and attempted to cover it up with caulk even though there has never been any documentation that they fixed it.

Our camper has always been returned dirty inside and out with no attempt to clean up after a repair.  We even found staples in the kids bunks after one repair.  It takes numerous trips to service for the same problem for them to actually do something about it.  I even found a dirty coffee maker with some unknown fluid inside the pot after the most recent repair.  I guess they like to use the owners campers while they are at their dealership for repairs.  Who knows what else they have done to it.

We live in Kentucky which unfortunately has no lemon law for travel trailers.  We have contacted the AG, BBB and filed a complaint with the FTC.  We do have an attorney but are trying to keep the cost down as much as possible.  But we may be forced to file suit to get something done.  If anyone has any advice on what else we could try, please let me know.  All opinions are welcomed.

Same issues with our 2012 keystone bullet

We purchased a keystone bullet 24rb brand new in 2012, and have had issues from day one. The dealership has constantly tried to correct the issues and has done a good job but new issues arrise every time the trailer is used. We have had missing refrig parts, faulty wiring, incorrect wiring, faulty plumbing, incorrectly installed plumbing, major leaks causing black mold, and more. Our trailer was out of service in the shop over 10 times in the year warranty. Kansas does not have a lemon law for rv's, but they are protected un cunsumer protection laws, and we are in the middle of a lawsuit with Keystone rv at the moment. The whole time keystone has told us the problems would be fixed, and we decided enough is enough, we want a refund or a new trailer, (as stated in thier warranty) keystone refuses. I suggest you contact an attorney and follow up with a suit if you have not already.

1st the coffee pot: WHen testing the trailer for electrical problems a device that is safe to use, draws high loads and will provide proof of propper function over a documentable period while unatended. The coffee pot is a great idea. Dumb as a sack of hammers to leave it in the unit though.

2nd you did not say in your complaint what Keystone had to say about this mess. They are a Company that cares about the opinion the retail customers pass along and usually do what is possible to make things right. The retail Customer Service Rep was Nice guy the last time I called in.

If you haven't yet call them. Be Polite. They are not your enemy. Retail Customer service @ (866) 425-4369

Good Luck
