Please beware that Kia of Sherman Oaks In Van Nuys California is a rip off.  Not only are they constantly insisting that services that are not necessary be done at their dealership or your warranty will be voided, The predominant offender is a service adviser named Manny Gonzalez that promises service completion times that he never complies with additionally nearly all warrantee work (as described in the Kia of America warranty book) are consistently denied by Manny...

he also reports this to his regional adviser Robert Leal from Kia of America and that person also co-signs his denial.  I have yet to get that denial in writing from the Kia representative but my demand will be sent by certified mail, and if then refused, well, they (Kia of Sherman Oaks, will need your prayers as I am a barracuda when I am wronged and have all the time in the world to pursue any action I deem necessary. 

I have asked but not yet granted an appointment with the manager Mr William Wilcox.  I am not sure if he is an owner or only a supervisor but I will update this report...in the meanwhile beware , do NOT do or buy from the dealership or any dealership under the name and business of Casa de Cadillac.  Additionally you should know that Cadillac has withdrawn their cars from this dealership @ 3 years ago...that should tell you something, they do not want their name, Cadillac, associated with Casa de Cadillac, yet the dealer continues to use the name. 

Continued bad service will result in continued reports to Ripoff.com  Just one more tidbit, cars are guaranteed to be washed completely after each and every service, mine has not been washed the past 2 visits, when I complained they Manny, insisted that they had been washed, as well offered to re-do the was-I declined, but how can a wash have been done when the re remains dirt on the windshield from the wiper from a very recent rain??

What exactly are you asking to be warantied? Just to let you know, no service advisor can just deny or approve a warranty repair. All warranty repairs have to be submited by replacememt part numbers and accompanying vin number to determine whether they are covered or not. Trust me the techs usually want it to be covered because then at least they know they will be able to do the job and get paid since they arde paid per job performed and not per hour worked and neither are the service advisors. A trans flush at 40,000 miles does not in any way sound unreasonable to me. If you are soooo concerned that they are ripping you off why not ask thwm to show you the manufactures recomended mileage intervals for your specific vehicle. Also your owners manual might show it as well but most owners manuals only show normal maintenance intervals which do not apply to california. Due to our extreme weather fluctuations from scorching hot to freezing cold in a relatively inconsistent time frame,freeway conditions, and stop and go traffic on surface streets, california has been catagorized, from an automotive standpoint, as a extreme driving condition. Most manufacturers have different maintenance mileage intervals for extreme driving conditions. Why complain about paying for a tranny service at 40,000 miles? Isnt it much cheaper than having to pay for a new transmission? I can assRture you if your transmission fails during your warranty period and you have not performed the maintenances as recomended rhe claim will be denied and you will be paying for a new transmission. I would deffinatly do all recomended maintenance for your tranny especially since kia is now owned by hyundai, dont get me wrong hyundai has come a long way and improved dramatically, but they are known for transmission problems as a company. Another thing I do not understand about your rant is you state that if your claims, which are being sent to kia bt certified mail, if they are denied you state kia of sherman oaks is going to suffer, why them? They are not the ones who make the final decision as to deny or grant a warranty claim, the manufacturer does. There seems to be more to this story that is not being disclosed. It is verry rare for warranty repairs to be denied unless the vehicle has suffered major damage or was tampered with by a non approved facility which can void some warranty as well as the addition of certain aftermarket components that cause the vehicle to opperate contrary to its origional design. As far as cadillac, it takes a lot for a manufacturer to completelt pull a line, since they still legaly bear their name the line could have been pulled for financial reasons yet the facility is still authorized to perform service work on that make. I have been in the automotive industry for over 13 years and have seen luxury car lines pull sales from a specific dealership due to the lack of demand for that model in the specific area.To me this sounds like a case of buyers remorse, tou wanted mercwdes qualiry at a cheap price when tje fact of the mattwr is you own a kia, plain and simple. They are some of the cheapest cats on the market. It is true, you get what you pay for. When u purchase a cheap bottom of the barrel car make your not going to get perfection. Also, as im sure they tell you, washing of the cars is a courtesy, they are not required by contract or law to do it. Sometimes it can be overlooked especially when there is an overbearing, uncoperative customer waiting for his car. At that time the focus gets shifted to getting them out of the shop.
