I was hit by a drunk driver and my vehicle has been in the shop for 4 months being repaired. Thats right 4 months! Every time the vehicle looks like it will be ready, another part must be replaced and each part has been BACKORDERED.

I am now without a vehicle going on 3 months, as my insurance will only cover 30 days of rental reimbursement. Nobody wants to pay for the fact that KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CRAP. This is not a limited edition model, it is a 2008 Sportage. Why are there NO PARTS available???

I have called about 20 different Kia dealers in 6 different states looking for parts. I have tried independent parts suppliers (kiacarparts.net, etc.) and there is nobody that can get these parts. Seat belts, air bag controller, etc.. not unique parts in any sense just a crappy supply chain.

I have talked to several dealer general managers and they offer the same excuse "if Korea doesnt send it, we dont have it" with no apologies.

In an ideal world the estimator and body shop would have uncovered ALL of the parts that needed to be replaced, but this didnt happen and as they try to reset the computer fault codes they keep finding new parts that need to go. It is currently at a KIA dealer and they have taken just as long as the body shop to make any progress.

I will never buy another KIA! Think long and hard before you decide to get one. This is a huge CUSTOMER SERVICE issue and they are unwilling to do anything to help.

If you have any suggestions how to get KIA off it's @SS and get the parts that I am waiting on, I would appreciate it.

If you work for Kia, why not help this person out?

I agree, it sounds like they went to an unorganized body shop. However, if they are now talking to Kia dealers directly and being told the parts are on back order, that's another issue. If you work for a Kia dealership, or Kia why don't you step in on this person's behalf and get them handled? I know any ethical business would not want this kind of thing being said about them on the internet. This is a great opportunity for you to right a big wrong!

Why is it Kia's fault?

So because you got hit by a drunk driver it is Kia's fault? Sounds like maybe you chose a wrong shop to fix your car. There is no way parts are on backorder for 4 months. If the shop you chose to fix your car would have done their job correctly and ordered all of the needed parts you probably would not be in this situation.
