My wife and I decided to buy our son a Kia Sportage for graduation cause they looked like a fun car but from day 1 we have had nothing but trouble with it. It is a 2002 Kia Sportage 2 door and we bought it brand new. As of now it has a little under 37,000 miles and has been in the shop 15 times. One time I decided it needed to be taken for a drive so living in Nevada I went across the desert and it decideds to blow the cooling system out in the middle of nowhere. Just luckly there are friendly drivers that went by but I spent 6 hrs in the desert before being picked up. That night I spent the night in a towing yard cause there where no rooms in the small town. Kia told them to tow it to Palmdale, CA. when Reno was closer. So I had to fly home because rentals I was told were not given out thru Kia. It was in the shop for a month and ever since then as soon as I get it home from the shop the check engine light comes on. But before this happened the check engine light came on 10 different times. The last time I got it from the shop they forgot to put antifreeze in the engine and it overheated on the way home (3 miles) and after I put the antifreeze in it surprise the check engine light came on. I need help in either geting a refund or a replacement.
