School administrators committing sexual or physical abuse is not that rare. It has happened before and will happen again. As long as school employees are immune from prosicution by child protective services and law enforcement you will have child abuse. If the parents of these girls had done what Kirt Shaw did they would have gone to jail. There is no reason for the immunity except that it is common for school administrators to abuse kids and the state can't afford lawsuits. Corporal punishment and child abuse are the price we pay for not having competent administrators.

I am sure some of content in this report is false. He never made anyone expose themselves or he would have gone to jail. It also goes beyond reasonable doubt that he was unaware the policy said only someone of the same sex could do the swatting. It was his job to know school policy. He just did it because he wanted to. It should be noted that since he got caught he will not paddle anyone even though the policy say it is alright. Guilt has a way changing behavior. This was sexual misconduct.

I fully apppreciate the opinion of this writer. His position on the subject of corporal punishment in schools is right on in my opinion.
I concur that students today would greatly benefit by the judicious use of corporal punishment. I beleive that students respond better to male authority, not female authority.
I regret that Mr. Shaw may have used to much force when he paddled Taylor Santos. Never the less, I think a man should be the person to paddle students of both genders. My honest perspective is that taking the policy of only the same sex administering paddling is a copout ... akin to throwing the baby out with the bath water!
I am a Xian conservative which accounts for my values on this subject.

P.S. I beleive in the concept of en loco parentis... that school authorities are acting in place of the parent. The parents wishes & standards are of course paramount!

Kirt Shaw Vice Principal CHOSE to assualt females in his school. He has assaulted so many school students that he brazenly chose to do this to two females as well. When he decided that he would carry out violence against the bodies of minor school students he invited criticism and judgment. This bully could have said NO. He did not, and he is the one who abused these students. This man should be arrested and jailed for assault, but certainly not kept on to do more harm--because he will.

Yes this man is a bully in every sense of the word. He is not to be excused at all for his actions of violence because he did NOT have to assault this young female. Believe it or not three are principals and vice principals that will REFUSE to assault our youth regardless if it is legal in their backward school sytems or not. These young adults are minors and cannot give legal consent to legal actions, and How dare they be expected to agree to have violence used upon their bodies. How disgusting.

All of you nimwits who are defending this man are a bunch of s3x offender apologists/enablers. This man hurt a 15 year old girl and there is photographic evidence to prove it. The chief of police is too much of a coward to bring charges against this man. This was not corporal punishment, this was child abuse, plain and simple. When you inflict injury upon a child, you deserve to pay the price.
This has happened at least on two separate incidents to very similar looking girls. This is not just happenstance. This man is a predator who is disguising his fetish under the guise of corporal punishment. Why in the h3ll does a 15 year old girl need to be spanked by a full grown man at high school??!! That is just outrageous! This is not just child abuse but also bullying. What is wrong with this f#$%ed up school district? Who in their right mind would defend this animal? You are all scum in my opinion.

I have been hearing news that the vice principal made the student drop both her pants and underwear, expose her front side to him to see how "clean shaven" she is, and then have her bend over for the spanking.
that is just totally absurd.

It IS agreed that Taylor Santos deserved punishment for allowing a fellow student cheat off her homework. However, it is not agreed that just anybody be allowed to exert physical punishment on the child.
I am a retired educator who also worked as a school teacher, vice principal, principal, and superintendent of a public school district in Ohio. In my opinion, corporal punishment should be conducted by a parent who is raising the child because a child's first role model is always the parents.
If I did what Kirt Shaw did, I would have gone to prison and been labeled a sex offender. Mr. Shaw should have told the mother of her child's undesirable behavior, and it should have been the mother's responsibility to spank the child.
Taylor Santos is NOT of legal age to consent to be "touched" in a sexual way. By "touched", I mean fingered, fondled, groped, and even spanked.
It sickens me that Mr. Shaw took pleasure and laughed while administering punishment on a child who exposed her bare buttocks for the paddle.
Did Mr. Shaw experience sexual gratification as staring at a young woman's bottom? I think so. That is why I think he is a sick pervert who really should be locked up.
From one school administrator to another, it is my advice that Mr. Shaw should have refrained from such an act and should have reported it to her mother.
To the shill from Springtown, you are probably Mr. Shaw's boss, Chris Pennington, or his wife, Terri Lanell Shaw. Either way, you are both idiots in condoning this type of punishment.

The moron who wrote this report does not even live in the State of Texas - just saw a news story
The young teen in the story violated the rules, asked for the punishment and now thinks it is ok to leak her story to the news - sick and tired of these spoiled teenagers who refuse to take responsibility for their actions then scream sexual assault.
Grow up - take responsibility for your actions and get a life -

This man is no more a sex offender than President Obama is. I worked as a teacher in Springtown for 14 years. Kirt Shaw is a hard working and honorable family man who was just trying to do his job as outlined by the Springtown school board. These accusations are total hogwash, perpetrated by a child and her mother who happened not to like the fact that she got caught cheating and had to pay the price for it. I do not approve of allowing the child to choose between "licks" and ISS (in school suspension) believing that she should have been made to attend ISS instead of being allowed such an "out," but Mr. Shaw doesn't make the rules. The fact that his name is being dragged through the mud due to no fault of his own is a prime example of why our schools are not able to educate our kids today. They are simply not ALLOWED to by a 15 to 20% of either thug parents raising thug kids, or as in this case, parents who think their kids do no wrong!!! If there were "blisters"on these students' posteriors from Mr. Shaw then PROVE it with photographic evidence!!! (And no, I'M not a sex offender either!!) I am not sexually interested in some 15 year old kid's butt!! But this kind of nonsense MUST stop if we want our kids to accept responsibility for their actions and if we want our schools to be able to educate our kids as opposed to being merely day care centers!!!
