There very well may be some immunodeficiency's here, but your kitten may very well NOT have arrived with ringworm. Did you not reach the point in your homework which would have told you cats are CARRIER'S, and do not need to be exposed to break out? Stress can be a big factor in when they break out, and any change in enviroment is very stressful. Some breeds seem to be even heavier carriers than others, so let me guess, and then let me look, YEP, persian and persian related breeds. Exotics, himi's and persian. I AM surprised that so many people have caught it though. Those most at risk are younger, older, lower immune system, and yep, high stress. Similar fungus to athletes foot, and a great deal of ringworm treatments also are helpful with ringworm. Of course, it can even go away on it's own in a while without treatment considering there are no secondary issues. I have this saying, If ringworm creeps you out, stay away from cats and kids. Good luck to you. Just thought I'd add some info for any kitty newbies to research and ask their vet about :-).*just my opinions*

In fairness to Ms. Milhorn, we now have a wonderful cat (a year and a half later). But, it took over a year and lots of money to get her to where she is now. Her health was so greatly effected by the ringworm that her immune system was practically nonexistent. By giving her oral and topical meds we probably stunted her growth. She is adorable but weighs about 5lbs. I still feel that Mrs. Milhorn knew the kitten had problems and the multitude of veterinarians that worked with us to save this kitten all agree. Buyer beware...Mrs. Patricia Milhorn or Kisspurz may have a new name, Diane of By Dezign.
