Purchasec a pair of diamond stud earrings for my daughter as a high school graduation gift. Purchased from Kmart in Clinton, TN 37716 in April 2013. The store was closing that summer. The two clerks working the jewelry counter told my daughter and I that the Replacement Plan Kmart offered would replace the earrings if she lost them. I thought this was a good idea. I paid a $13.99 fee for the Replacement Plan. I had problems filing plan with Kmart because of the receipt the store gave me. After months of calling, faxing and mailing a copy of the receipt, Kmart called and advised the coverage was in place.



My daughter lost one earring around April 1, 2014 and lost the other one Easter Weekend 2014. She called Kmart and they advised her they would not cover the loss. I called back the next day and spoke to "Lawanda." She advised me that it did not cover the loss. I asked why we were told the plan would cover the loss of the earrings. She didn't know why and I needed to go back to the store where we purchased the earrings. I told her the store closed summer 2013. I asked for a supervisor. The person who came to the phone and said they were a supervisor sounded just like Lawanda. I asked for another supervisor and Donyetta came on the phone and advised the earrings were not covered, did not know why we were told they were and in short, we were out of luck.



I will not shop at Kmart or Sears again. They offer services that are false and misleading.
