Months ago I joined Knuckleup with a friend after being "referred" by a coworker- little did we know she was actually on their payroll. After what seemed like a honeymoon period of a trial week, we met in the office to discuss a membership. What may be a membership for some clubs was more like a contract signed in blood to them. Immediately the romancing had stopped and we actually received threats saying that if we didn't sign up that day we would not only receive increased membership costs, but maybe even penalty costs as well. This sounded a little over the top, but my friend and I desperately wanted to get in shape and the club was right around the corner from where we lived.

Only a few months into it I was in a horrible car accident and suffered severe neck trauma. My doctor limited my physical activity from that point forward and forbid me from any contact sports- including, but not limited to kick-boxing and muy thai.

Now Knuckleup's contract specifically states that if you suffer physical injury which prohibits your activity, you will be excused from your contract if you have a signed Doctor's note. So under these pretenses I presented them with such a note- knowing I would no longer be able to participate in their club activities. Not only were they completely insensitive and actually questioned the validity of my neurologist, they refused to stop my contract.

With much deliberation and help of some family members, we finally got them to comply-supposedly.

I thought this was all old news, when they stopped the automatic deductions from my account...However, last month, not only is there one charge on my account but TWO, the second being almost 100 dollars!

I have bent over backwards talking to managers, owners, and the people incharge of billing, and half of them refuse to answer my calls or emails. None of which have followed through with any of their promises of crediting back my account and honoring their previous agreement to cancel my contract.

I should have known from the beginning that they were not at all interested in my wellbeing but only my pocketbook. Unfortunately I had to learn the hard way. Please DO NOT make the same MISTAKE! BEWARE of any kind words and false interests in your personal goals. They have alterior motives.
