Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
KSLC advertises on the job search websites like Monster.com, Careerbuilder.com, etc. They use a headline like "Do you have that swagger?" or "Jr. Marketing Consultant Needed!" Whatever it is, you will know its KSLC or one of its affiliates. Just search Ripoff Report for "Ken Lear," the owner.

I went for the first interview on a Monday and should have known something was up when they even called me...since my resume didn't even say ONE word about marketing. (Remeber, KSLC advertises as a marketing firm.) I was asked the usual interview questions, etc. Then the interviewer said I sound like a good candidate and that he would call me back at 4 PM if everything went well with the manager. Of course I received the call at 4 PM. I think they just say this to seem official, when they really probably hire ANY body who applies.

The next day, I arrived at 1:30 PM as instructed and was told that the second interview lasted til around 7 PM. I was cool with that, and was told to dress business pro... shirt and tie. No problem. I had that on, under a blazer. So I get there to find out I would be riding with one of the "marketers" aka door to door salesmen, from neighborhood to neighborhood trying to sell a service, offered by a major phone/internet provider.

Imagine the pain I felt. We were far from where parked, in a strange neighborhood, in freezing temperatures (it was snowing), and having to walk from house to house. I was not dressed for it, nor did I have the desire to do it. I was "stuck" out there in a business suit, forced to walk in the freezing cold! It was SHEER TORTURE! I can honestly say I wouldn't wish that experience on my worst enemy.

Needless to say, when they call me back this Friday, I will decline the garbage position. If they ask why, I will simply tell them that I was under the impression that the job was actually related to marketing and not door to door selling in subzero temperatures. Then I will proceed to say that if people want a certain phone/internet service, they will find out about it without having to be subjected to annoying knocks at the door. It is 2009 for goodness sake.

In short, stay away from KSLC or any other job opportunity that sounds too good to be true, or uses a lof of !!!!exclamation points!!!! because I GUARANTEE you that you will be in for a surprise. NO KSLC, NO Ken Lear Marketing, NO to 270 Carpenter Drive Suite 540. I tell you, its like scene from the Devil's Advocate. "Come on in and make yourself comfortable" then in less than 24 hours, its "We have you now! You will suffer and do what we do until we release you! You will have to endure this since your car is no where around! Walk! Walk! Walk! Freeze until your face hurts!! KSLC has you!"

Take this report as a warning and stay far, far away. Your sanity, peace of mind, and 98.6 degrees will be grateful if you do.

BUT THIS IS HOW THEY F#CKED ME OVER.  After like 4months I was so good, I got offered a promotion with the chance to open a new office in Nashville, TN.. So I accepted, packed up out ATL and moved with the rest of my team.... These assholes fired me a month after the move.. Hell they coulda left me in ATL... Ken Lear and Phil Trueblood are crooks..
