I joined my family up with LA fitness under my credit card for family plan. My 20 yr old son went for his free training consult and was convinced to sign up for sessions and told he could cancel any time with one months notice, (yeah right) not true. He was signed up for 2 sessions a week 24.00/ session, which he can't afford going to college and working part time. He received no copy of the contract or any paperwork regarding billing! He went to the gym to have it changed to once a week the second day and the head trainer had left early but he was told by another trainer it would be taken care of.

I called the third day since I found 433.00 had been tagged on my credit card which I can't afford while I'm going through breast cancer treatment. This company is very sneaky and does not give accurate info about charges or their policies. Bruce told me everything would be taken care of and the bill would be changed to my son's charge and sessions would be changed to once a week. What a big lie, we have gone around and around with this company, if he puts a cancellation in he will owe 1200.00 on my card since he has to pay for half of the sessions(which he was not told before). You are screwed whatever you do. Anyway be very careful when dealing with these people, they are good at taking advantage of people

If they truly made UNAUTHORIZED charges to your credit card, report them to your credit card company and the charges should be reversed. It's as simple as that! However, you may want to review whatever your son signed up for/agreed to regarding the training sessions. Call the fitness center to request to see the contract. It is very possible that your son signed up for training sessions and authorized them to be billed to the credit card on file, in which case your dilemma will be more difficult, yet not impossible, to resolve.
