LA Times Fund Raiser Scam Los Angeles California
I was also in a scam. Last October I believe, a college student came to my door and asked me to purchase a fund raiser. I chose the LA Times which at the time I figured might be a big mistake because they aer a psin and are always calling for a subscription. I paid the $20.00 and said the paper would start being delivered in a couple of weeks or so. I am not really sure when I started receiving it or even cared becasue it only went in the recycle bin still in it's wrapper. Anyway it did finally stop which I didn't notice either. Two weeks ago I get a letter from a collection agency saying that I owe them 21.00 and I don't pay it I will go to collections. If I pay my subscription will continue. I called the LA Times and they told me that I was supposed to cancel it when the fund raiser ended. How the hell am I supposed to know that?? It didn't matter who I spoke with they were all stupid. I did send the money to the LA Times with a very nasty letter and told tham they could read about their paper on RipOffReport.com. DON'T PARTICIPATE IN ANY LA TIMES FUNDRAISERS!!!!
