Lady Of America unethical billing Miami Florida
I paid off my three year membership early and in full in June of 2003. I also told them I cancelling any further memberships.
In August of 2004 I get a call from a collection agency stating that I owed them $250 for an auto renewal. I told them I never signed up for auto renewal and they told me I didn't check the box on the contract to avoid it. Not that I was ever told about that option.
I was also told that I didn't send in a "notarized" letter cancelling the auto renewal so I was liable for the balance, even though I haven't been to that gym in two or more years.
I have negotiated to pay $100 to them in order to avoid negative credit consequences, but I am looking to get my $100 back as well as inform the public of their unethical business practices.

Joanne: I can suggest only one thing to you: try contacting your LOA personally. It is possible that the club is not aware of your situation. National Fitness Financial Systems and your specific LOA location are separate entities. Again, try contacting your club to resolve your issue. Sincerely,
