Found an ad online and contacted him about the program to purchase a property in preforeclosure/foreclosure. He said he knocks on doors and hires a doorknocker and talks to homeowners in distress and negotiates to purchase their house and find a buyer to take over the financing on their home. These are home in danger of foreclosing. They are behind on mortgage payments, taxes or hoa dues. He explains how they are able to do this legally and he uses a lawfirm to hold your funds in escrow in his lawyers trust account towards a downpayment on the home.
The use of a lawyer makes it all appear legal and legitimate. Then he tells you he needs to sign a release of funds from the lawyers trust account for purposes of buying lists and hiring people. But he already shows you access to the county listing of properties. He instead uses the funds for his own purposes. He guarantees a refund within 90 days and he asks for extension to pay you back and then tries to get you to agree to accept less due to fees and expenses he incurred.
He has reported to have closed his offices and moved elsewhere. He uses an address in Santa Ana as well.
He advertises online on websites, craigslist, twitter and Meetup group.
Do NOT fall for this trap. If you did happen to lose money to this guy, please contact me through this site so we can coordinate efforts to recover money and pursue all legal measures. Discovered he has a criminal record and was arrested doing similar business in the past.
